The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is a student-facing department that provides support and resources to all NUS students. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced candidate to join the Community Engagement (CE) team. The candidate will be passionate about helping international students succeed and should have a strong understanding of international students\' engagement and integration, as well as cross-cultural communication and education.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Provide prompt and direct support to international students by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering appropriate referrals, when necessary.
2. Develop and implement effective programmes and initiatives, such as the Peer Connector Network Programme, Orientation and Assimilation Activities, with a strong focus on achieving desired outcomes.
3. Create and curate resources (e.g. toolkits, training workshop etc.) to equip collaborators e.g. student organisations with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective international student engagement and integration.
4. Cultivate and nurture relationships with international students, student organisations, faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance the support network available to international students.
5. Provide guidance and support to cultural-based interest student groups and other student groups involved in international student engagement and integration projects.
6. Collect and analyse data to assess the needs and challenges faced by international students and make recommendations for programme improvement.
7. Devise and execute thorough communication and publicity strategies, encompassing website updating, creating and refining communication materials e.g. user-friendly starter kit, and leading campaigns with a focus on integration and well-being.
8. Manage administrative tasks and reporting obligations related to the scope of responsibilities outlined above.
9. Participate in cross-functional projects and committees to collaborate with colleagues on advancing CE\'s and OSA\'s initiatives.
10. Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and continuous improvement of CE and OSA.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor\'s degree in a related field, such as international studies, education, or social work
2. At least 3 years of work experience, with at least 2 years of experience working with international students.
3. Experience working with a diverse population is a plus.
4. Excellent communication (in both verbal and writing) and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
7. Resourceful and possess strong organisational, project management, administrative and documentation skills.
8. Meticulous and detail-oriented.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, survey e.g. Qualtrics and online communication tools
11. Proficient in outcomes and impact measurement.
