Job Description

The position is the front-facing liaison to the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST) student community and assists the Deputy Director (Student Life) on a range of student-related matters. The position works closely with various stakeholders and manages internal student services and support, parent/family liaison and housing operations. The position is also responsible for keeping YST alumni in staying connected with NUS through regular and active communication. The incumbent ensures that the YST alumni database is kept up to date by obtaining frequent and regular updates from staff, faculty and alumni, so as to provide critical statistics on alumni employment and residence when required.

Duties & Responsibilities
Student Affairs

• Main liaison for all student related issues including hostel billing and hostel offences.
• Communicating and guiding newly admitted students regarding pre-enrolment procedures.
• Manage all communication with students
• Communicate hostel application, results and payment matters to students
• Administer financial aid, subsidies and stipend for students.
• Update and maintain YST student records, as well as guiding students to update the relevant offices e.g. EduRec, ICA
• Communicate and monitor the completion of formalities for students\' pass and MOE Tuition Grant for newly admitted international students
• Faculty administrator of NUS Global Education (EduRec-GE) for students on overseas exchange programmes

Orientation

• Overall in-charge of Freshmen Orientation Programme and logistics.
• Advisor to Orientation Group Leaders and Student Management Committee.
• Administer and communicate orientation schedule to faculty and students.

Career Counselling

• Conduct exit interviews to obtain feedback from graduating students and to provide career guidance.
• Administer and manage the Graduate Pathways Sharing Sessions with partner schools.

Alumni Relations

• Utilize available resources such as YST\'s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and YouTube channels) to reach out to alumni to inform and announce alumni achievements and awards.
• Keep alumni informed and engaged through regular news; (e.g. performance opportunities).
• Collating latest updates on alumni changes in employment and residence through extensive surveillance on social media.
• Appoint class ambassadors to encourage class giving and connection.

Qualifications

• Degree from a recognised university.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good grasp of written and spoken English.
• Self-driven, proactive, organized and able to work both independently and collaboratively and in a flexible manner - out of office hours as required.
• Meticulous, able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Good team player
• Service-oriented with conceptual and analytical mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word and Excel) required.
• Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Applications) an advantage.
• Experience in using student data systems (eg, Student Information System, NUSync) an advantage.
• Musical background an advantage.
