Key Accountabilities

- Provides effective support in assigned area of responsibility to facilitate smooth operation of laboratory facilities and ensures that appropriate support provided to other locations when required to allow R&D technical teams to carry out work efficiently.
- Understand and manage a broad range of customer needs
- Self-manage and prioritise to meet deadlines as ageed with line manager to ensure laboratory chemists are supplied with materials/facilities required e.g. order, supply, replenish consumables, raw materials and solvents used in the laboratory, supply and replenish spill stations in the laboratory facility, dispose of waste materials as required
- Manage an assigned complex activity e.g.mill room or spray booths or provide support to the facilities of a small stand alone R&D site (

- Understand basic requirements of test methods/procedures relevant to the role as required
- Understand operation, cleaning and maintenance of relevant laboratory equipment and risks associated with equipment and it\'s operation, e.g. fitting and trouble-shooting tasks associated with application equipment or facilities as required
- Communicate effectively with customers (e.g. chemists/contractors etc) including providing updates in relation to status of queries and laying out alternate courses of action where appropriate
- Identifies Facilities improvement needs and generates ideas for discussion with line manager and implement agreed improvement ideas. Could participate in an improvement team
- Support the Lab equipment is calibrated/verified within the Schedule Plan according to Internal and External calibration requirement
- Managing vendors of waste disposal materials (Chemical & Solid Waste) and submit declaration to NEA related to chemical waste
- Assist in provision of emergency response (eg to floods or spills) in the R&D Laboratory, including coordination with engineering/HSE/Management functions as required (Eg. CERT Team member, First Aider)
- Responsible for quality and safety of facilities assigned
- Conduct daily check according to checklist & update facility maintenance record
- Ensure maintenance Work Order is properly following up and complete according to requester request.
- Maintains a safe working environment e.g member of 5S team, supports H&S engagement audits, supporting BBS processes, supporting SAQ

Experience

- Understanding of ISO17025 and ISO9001 requirements.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills via email.
- Have Laboratory experience in handling lab equipment.
- Knowledge of inventory management.
- Able to manage vendors of chemical waste disposal materials.
