Job Summary \xef\x82\xa7 Assume Manager\xe2\x80\x99s role in his absence. \xef\x82\xa7 Responsible for ensuring the overall dining experience of the guests \xef\x82\xa7 Responsible for assignment of sections / specific guests to various staff \xef\x82\xa7 Responsible for training and developing staff \xef\x82\xa7 Assists manager in recruiting, interviewing and hiring team members \xef\x82\xa7 Responsible for day to day operational efficiency.

Pre-service \xef\x82\xa7 Check reservations for the day, plan seating arrangements accordingly, and assign staff to specific guests (if necessary or when requested) \xef\x82\xa7 Check dietary restrictions of guests and inform staff \xef\x82\xa7 Delegate work to staff. This includes:

  • Setting up of the restaurant (ensuring cutlery and glasses are set and prepared)
  • Observing the general cleanliness of the restaurant \xef\x82\xa7
Handle administration of staff matters which include:
  • Ensuring staff punctuality
  • Tracking of staff\xe2\x80\x99s overtime
  • Planning of the duty roster on a weekly basis
  • Performance appraisal \xef\x82\xa7
Monitor monthly inventory of equipment and wines \xef\x82\xa7 Conduct roll-call before lunch and dinner sessions. Roll-call would include:
  • Informing staff of dietary restrictions of guests
  • Communicating information about assignment of roles / sections
  • Communicating daily specials, food that are not available or new on the menu
  • Communicating service standards that needs to be achieved
  • Conducting short refresher with staff with regards to the menu and wine list \xef\x82\xa7
Conduct training with staff regarding:
  • Food knowledge
  • Beverage knowledge
  • Methods of cooking

During service \xef\x82\xa7 Greet guests at door and send them off after their meals \xef\x82\xa7 Mingle amongst guests to ensure that they are satisfied with the service / food \xef\x82\xa7 Handle customer concerns

Post-service \xef\x82\xa7 Assist in the closing of the restaurant which includes ensuring that all cutlery and clean and put in place and the general cleanliness of the restaurant

To ensure compliance with set of service standard guidelines by Management \xef\x82\xa7 Ensure High Degree of operational efficiency is maintained \xef\x82\xa7 Follow up on supply requirement & oversee daily work schedule / manpower planning . \xef\x82\xa7 Able to perform daily POS closing . \xef\x82\xa7 Provide direction , advise , guideance and fair workload distribution . \xef\x82\xa7 Training of staff via training menu / checklist and weekly report of their progress. \xef\x82\xa7 Ensure overall cleanliness / tidiness of work station and personal hygiene & tidiness of all FOH staff . \xef\x82\xa7 Able to advise guest on food selection / helping guest to resolve issue during operation hours. \xef\x82\xa7 Follow up on restaurant maintenance and others fixture . \xef\x82\xa7 Self Motivate & discipline \xef\x82\xa7 May be called to perform others related tasks not included in this JD . \xef\x82\xa7 Able to prepare reports as & when required . \xef\x82\xa7 Able to handle guest & resolve requirement / feedback courteously / tactfully & diplomatically . \xef\x82\xa7 Able to attend meeting .
