St. Michael\xe2\x80\x99s is gathering candidates for various surge support positions for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client\xe2\x80\x99s financial management office. We are searching for candidates from All Experience Levels (from Junior to Subject Matter Expert) with Federal Budget Analysis Experience.You will be in a client-facing role that will benefit from your leadership, problem solving, and expertise with the processes and systems used to support financial management operations across DHS. Our core value of Teamwork will be paramount to this role as you will work side by side with government personnel and a team of financial management experts providing support across our client\xe2\x80\x99s multiple financial offices.LOCATION
Primarily Remote \xe2\x80\x93 Candidate must be able to report to the client site located in the Washington, DC area when requiredWHO YOU ARE

  • Junior Level: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in related area and 1 \xe2\x80\x93 3 years of related experience.
  • Mid-Level: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in related area and 3 \xe2\x80\x93 10 years of related experience.
  • Senior Level: Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s with additional 8 years of experience) in related area, 8+ years direct experience in specific field, and 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience leading and managing teams.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s with additional 8 years of experience) in related area, 20+ years of experience in field directly related to role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively with a group or independently.
  • Ability to read/interpret management policy, regulations, and directives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint.
  • The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance or currently have an active Public Trust Clearance (or higher).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide variance analysis and recommendations to improve processes, metrics, and statistics.
  • Coordinate with Regional Offices and Headquarter Divisions to distribute reports and collect and analyze data and perform variance reporting.
  • Provide support services to review, develop, and update financial policies and procedures for client related to DHS, MGMT, OMB, and other Federal Government and Accounting regulations.
  • Assist in the development and/or update of financial policies and procedures and associated reports/tools to address and prevent audit findings and recommendation areas, utilizing plain language. Develop and provide training on all recommended processes and tools.
  • Provide ongoing expertise in financial policy and procedures, research and analysis, recommendations for business process improvements, financial analysis, reconciling financial reports, performing validation and verification of accounting records, analyzing estimates and accruals and other financial related business efforts and activities.
