Overview:
Calspan ASE is the world’s number one supplier of ground-based testing solutions and expertise for the aerospace industry. Our customers get a single, experienced partner to help them efficiently validate engine and airframe performance across development, production and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO). We are looking for a motivated Field Service Technician to join our St. Paul Team! Responsibilities:
This position performs on-site equipment installation, modifications, test, and repair of company equipment or supervision of sub-contractors performing tasks.

• 
  Perform mechanical and electrical equipment installation and repairs in response to service requests within the guidelines of company EH&S practices/policies. Includes removal and/or modification of existing customer equipment in preparation for new equipment installations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic applications with the use of diagnostic and test equipment.
• Conduct functional checkout and commissioning of electrical and mechanical equipment in accordance with company documentation and procedures. Submit timely and accurate reporting logs for all site activity during installation, checkout and commissioning of the test facility.
• Operate overhead cranes, ground handling equipment and aerial lifts, compressors, presses, grinders and variety of hand tools.
• Document and prepare red line drawing changes, submit requests for parts and assist in writing work procedures
• Assists shop production teams with sub-assembly work and facility maintenance as needed

Qualifications:
Preferred Education / Experience:

• 
  AAS or Bachelors in related discipline
• 3+ years in related discipline or;
• A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid US Passport

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

• 
  Strong communication verbal and written skills. Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with the customer and company personnel.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and testing procedures, as well as, hands on experience in troubleshooting of both mechanical an electrical control system.
• Microsoft Office proficient; CAD experience beneficial
• Ability to travel internationally and domestically 75% of the time
