To support Finance Lead in business partnering role and strategic financial direction of College of Design & Engineering (CDE) and Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YSTCM), National University of Singapore.
Duties & Responsibilities
Finance Business Partnering

• Provide quality advisory on financial matters to Head of Departments and stakeholders;
• Facilitate creation, updating and closure of accounts;
• Facilitate application of access to Finance Systems;
• Generate and provide financial reports to requestors who are not given access to the Finance System (SAP S/4 HANA);
• Investment placement and withdrawal;
• Regular review of Departments’ financial position.

Budgeting & Fund Management

• Monitor undisbursed financial commitments;
• Follow up on fund shortfalls.

General Ledger & Controllership

• Verify and submit journal requests;
• Accounts review and follow up on open Balance Sheet items;
• Monitor grant utilisation and grant disbursement.

Fixed Assets

• Oversight in fixed assets management & compliance;
• Provide advisory on asset capitalisation and retirement procedures;
• Coordinate/conduct/sample annual asset verification exercise.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Ensure key control activities are in place to manage risk and prevent/detect fraud;
• Attend in audit queries and ensure agreed action items are implemented;
• Seek and act on automation opportunities to increase efficiency and streamline workflows;
• Understand business requirements and constraints in recommending practical win-win solutions in the best interest of NUS;
• Support and participate in University-level process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• ACCA, Bachelor Degree in Accountancy or equivalent;
• Meticulous, organised, able to prioritize to meet deadlines and multi-task;
• Self-starter, hands-on and able to work independently;
• Dynamic team player with can-do attitude with pro-customer service mindset and strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively at all levels;
• Well versed with Microsoft Office applications, particularly in MS Excel;
• Proficiency in SAP S/4 HANA will be an advantage.
