The trainee will be a Finance Business Partner to SFA's Food Reserves team to manage day-to-day finance operations and various finance and governance-related processes and projects. Through this, the trainee would potentially develop finance functional competencies such as business partnering, budget planning, governance & risk management, as well as core competencies such as critical thinking & analysis, working effectively with stakeholders, innovation etc.
[What you will be working on]
The trainee will be tasked on the following:
Work on the entire end-to-end finance operations processes from budget to payments, collections and receivables, bank processes, grants etc.
Leverage technology, such as Gen AI, RPA, etc. to streamline finance ops processes or advise and contribute to policy and operational decision-making
Institutionalise internal controls and governance structures to safeguard the use of public funds in partnership with external and internal stakeholders
Engage stakeholders in discussions relating to finance, policy, and/or operations.
Any other duties and ad hoc projects
[What we are looking for]
Degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Business Analytics or equivalent
Strong critical thinking, analytical and stakeholder management skills
Meticulous and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Growth mindset, dedicated to continuous learning and improvement
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint
Knowledge in Power BI is an advantage
