Job Description


This is a key role in the market to lead the finance team to perform client finance operations and provide financial planning and analysis support to Edelman Singapore. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong professional knowledge, communications and analytical skills, integrity, and enthusiasm with the ability to partner with the business team collaboratively.

The Finance Manager FP&A will report to the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities: \

Client Finance:

  • Perform client finance operations, from the initial credit assessment of the new client to the completion of the Client Staffing Budgeting Tool and contribution margin assessment.
  • Support assessment on client project revenue recognition based on agreed project delivery milestones for month-end closing to ensure revenue recognition in accordance with accounting policy.
  • Assist in monitoring and reviewing of client contributions and over-servicing and work with the business team to identify and address issues on specific projects and clients.
  • Support client revenue forecast and alignment with Sales Pipeline Tool Data (Pipeline).
  • Provide commercial support on business pitches i.e. completion of RFPs, RFQs etc.
  • Review client contracts to ensure the contractual terms are aligned with standard practice.
  • Handle billings and upload of invoices to client\'s portal based on agreed milestones in the contract or as and when required. Follow up for receipts, when necessary.
Financial Reporting and Management:
  • Maintain weekly revenue report (WRR) for monthly submission to Finance Director. Track movements between revenue risk categories for monthly commentary.
  • Manage daily operations including AR, AP and Intercompany Transactions. Ensure timely and prompt invoicing of all Client fees, Out-of-pocket expenses and third-party expenses.
  • Any other reporting required by the local/regional/global team.
  • Review and maintain the integrity of P&L and Balance Sheet ensuring each Balance Sheet item is well explained and supported with relevant justifications and is in compliance with DJE accounting policies and generally accepted accounting policy.
  • Ensure reporting timelines are met for actual close, tax reporting packs and other reporting packages.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
  • Work closely with the business team to support monthly forecasting and annual budgeting exercises.
  • Conduct monthly Client revenue forecast review and update accordingly as per guidance from the Local Client Lead and Global Client Lead (for Centrally managed clients).
  • Monthly result reporting with analysis of key variance and commentary.
  • Provide reports per standard formats including commentary and insights, preparing additional data analysis as required to inform business decisions or drive strategic change.
  • Ensure forecast and budget are uploaded onto the forecast system in accordance to the submission timeline.
  • Review and analyze monthly dashboards and management performance reports to identify potential issues to flag for management attention and actions.
  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting for management.
  • Periodic review and monitor utilization report with the business team.
  • Partner with the Client servicing team to support the use of resource management tools to identify potential instances of over-or-under-utilization, and actively work with client leads to address related issues and promote profitability.
  • Assist in the maintenance of resources and hiring tracker in support of hiring decision-making and assessment.
Qualifications:
  • University degree in Accounting/Finance and/or professional qualifications such as ACCA.
  • 4+ years relevant working experience in client finance, project accounting, financial planning and analysis
  • Excellent Excel skills and prior experience of financial systems.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the key drivers of financial performance and ability to take action that positively influences the margin of the client accounts.
  • Ability to present complicated and detailed information in a simple and clear manner, pulling out key insights to inform leadership and to influence positive behavior.
  • Proven track record of forming strong relationships both internally with the agency team and externally with the client and procurement teams.
  • Ability to navigate a complex, multi-market environment and set up systems and processes that work in a streamlined manner within this environment.
  • Sound business acumen, strategic thinking, and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong communications skill and proactiveness.
  • Strong sense of compliance and integrity.
  • Excellent business partnering skill and able to work with business team in a collaborative manner.
