Our client is a distinguished Insurance Firm renowned across the region. In the role of Finance Manager with our client, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire spectrum of financial accounting, operations, reporting, and tax functions. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will act as the key point of contact with regulatory bodies, ensuring strict compliance with the MAS requirements. Your responsibilities encompass financial analysis, reporting to both management and regulators, as well as the day-to-day management of finance operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
Responsibilities
As the designated Finance liaison with regulators, your role involves executing regulator reporting, addressing inquiries, and ensuring compliance. You play a vital part in monitoring the organization\'s financial performance, adhering strictly to regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities extend to preparing meticulous financial reports for management, regulators, and the Group, providing comprehensive financial analysis, rolling forecasts, and decision support.
In financial accounting, you manage month-end processes, reconcile ledger accounts, and oversee systems like the GL ledger, finance reporting tool, and Coupa, adhering to accounting policies. Day-to-day finance operations, including inter-company billing, collections, reconciliations, and accounts payable, fall under your purview.
Critical aspects of your role also include managing company tax activities, collaborating with tax consultants for timely filing, and playing a key role in external audits. You establish and maintain accounting policies and controls, emphasizing risk management and continuous improvement in internal controls, systems, and documentation.
Finally, you undertake any finance-related tasks or projects directed by the Head of Finance, contributing significantly to the overall financial health and compliance of the organization.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for the job should possess a degree in Accounting/Finance or a relevant professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or ICAEW. The individual must have a minimum of 10 years of finance experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role. Critical attributes include a strong understanding of financial regulations, experience with MAS reporting, and comprehensive knowledge of finance, financial planning and analysis, and business finance. Familiarity with financial regulations in Singapore is considered an added advantage. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating independence, self-motivation, and initiative. Essential qualities for success in this role include excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
