The Finance Manager, Singapore is responsible for overseeing and reviewing the day-to-day finance operations and activities for the Singapore business.

Working with the Shared Services Centre (SSC) based in Malaysia, the responsibilities include:

- Ensure the timely and accurate completion and submission of monthly closing activities and financial reports.

- Preparation and submission of financial reports for management reporting purposes, external audit and regulatory submissions.

- Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.

- Reviewing the finance processes to ensure regulatory compliance and improve/strengthen overall efficiency and controls.

- Coordinating and working with the business and operation teams in terms of finance-related matters

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with stakeholders to improve overall collections process and streamline billing processes
  • Monitor and review cash flow management and forecasts including the planning and supervision of pay cycles for vendor payments and staff claims
  • Ensure the accurate reconciliation and recording of all financial transactions and activities
  • Coordination and working with the business and operation teams for finance related matters
  • Be the primary point of contact to liaise with external auditors, tax agents, corporate bank(s) and other relevant authorities when required
  • Oversee and assist in the preparation and submission of all monthly closing reports prepared by the SSC team which include financial statements, variance reports, budget/cost reports, forecast reports, income statements, balance sheets, management reports etc.
  • Improves financial performance by analysing revenue and costs; and recommends actions to management
  • Perform year-end closing and/or consolidation of accounts
  • Review for proper and accurate entry of all AP and AR transactions and journal entries processed by the finance team to verify all payments and disbursements
  • Lead the annual external audit process, GST and regulatory submissions and handle all local tax matters
  • Guide and support team member and the SSC team when required
  • Share best-practices within area of responsibility with team member and the SSC team
Requirements
  • Degree in Finance/Accounting or ACCA
  • Min. 3 - 5 years experience of finance management and control/audit experience, preferably in the logistics/e commerce industry
  • Experience working with accounting ERP systems (SAP/Netsuite/Oracle)
  • Experience in working with SSC
  • Strong familiarity with general accounting principles, local tax requirements, financial reporting and billing processes
  • Comfortable with managing large data sets and high volume P&L sheets
  • Ability to speak fluently in English and Mandarin (to liaise with Chinese counterparts). Any other SE Asian language is a plus.
