About Our Client
Our client is a global leader in the field of risk management and property insurance. It provides a range of services to help businesses prevent and mitigate losses due to fire, natural disasters, and other hazards.
This position is responsible for the financial affairs of multiple business units in multiple countries, supporting the strategic and financial objectives of the Operations\' as well as ensuring compliance with a complex range of local prudential, tax and accounting requirements. The Asia entities / countries that the incumbent will be covering includes Singapore, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines and Thailand. Financial Accounting, Tax Accounting & Reporting
Provide effective management, supervision and approvals, ensuring financial and tax accounting and reporting activities are performed in an accurate, timely, and compliant manner. These activities include: Journals and Reconciliations, Prudential Reporting, Corporate Reporting and Tax Returns & Payments
Management Reporting and Analysis
Provide effective management, supervision and approvals, ensuring management reporting and analysis activities are performed in an accurate, timely and insightful manner. These activities include: Support of corporate budget process, Operations Dashboard Reporting, Country/industry statistics/analysis
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Key contributor and active member of the Operations\' risk management committees
Promote the development of, and adherence to, effective internal controls, policies and procedures that protect and preserve the assets of the organization
Regulatory Solvency and Capital Management
Establish and maintain an effective framework for regulatory solvency and capital management. This framework includes: Linkages with risk capacity and risk appetite, Target capital adequacy ratios, Stress testing & scenario analysis and Regulatory (ICAAP/ORSA) reporting
Change Management
Deliver key initiatives in the branch finance team that support strategic and financial objectives of the organization.
Support corporate projects, including as directed from the head office finance function
The Successful Applicant
Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting with professional designation/certification (CPA or CA) preferred
Minimum 7 years of experience in finance and/or audit role, with at least 3 years of experience in a management role. Insurance industry experience preferred.
