Description
The candidate will lead the finance team and to handle controllership duties. Reporting directly to the CEO< the candidate will play a key role in driving financial reporting, analyzing financial information and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Manage a small team responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring adherence to accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular financial analysis and present reports to senior management, offering actionable insights and recommendations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and expenses.
Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
Conduct periodic account reconciliations to maintain accuracy and consistency of financial data.
Assist with external audits and tax filings to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Stay informed about industry trends, accounting standards, and best practices to enhance financial operations.
Profile
Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA qualification is a plus.
Prior experience as a Finance Team leader or in a similar capacity, preferably within a start-up or software company setting.
Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems; familiarity with Xero is a bonus.
Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting intricate financial data and deriving meaningful insights.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, to facilitate effective collaboration across departments.
Meticulous attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
