As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.

We are looking for a full-time Design Technologist to deliver compelling solutions and prototypes for projects at the Design Factory at SIT (DF@SIT). Candidates are expected to have excellent communication skills, be highly organized, and be responsible for managing the vision and creative storytelling, in partnership with software development team and production vendors; responsible for delivery of quality design and work with stakeholders to envision narratives for their respective experience designs.

Key Responsibilities:

As Design Technologist, you will:

• Organize and deliver projects for our DF@SIT initiatives
• Act as a POC between internal and external stakeholders to communicate and translate feedback into actionable suggestions to improve the initiatives
• Plan, organize and facilitate design innovation workshops for internal and external stakeholders
• Compiling reports and delivering updates on community sentiments, related DF community insights and student-centric campaign performance
• Regularly engage with stakeholders at a 1:1 level, encouraging player discussions and engagement
• Identify and engage with high-value industry partners and students
• Work with product and marketing leads to develop, update and execute community engagement roadmap

Job Requirements:

Required skills for you to succeed at this job:

• Degree in any discipline, although preferably in industrial design or computing disciplines
• At least 3 years\' of experience in getting your hands dirty with some (or all!) of the technologies listed below:
• Additive Manufacturing
• Embedded electronics
• Web and mobile development
• AR/VR
• AI-driven creative solutions.
• Have a strong foundation in the crafting and delivering of User experience
• Passion for experimenting and building with existing, emerging technologies
• Be able to work well in a small team
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Meticulous, organized and able to manage multiple project timelines

Additional skills that would be great to have:

• Basic DevOps skills (AWS, GCloud, Aliyun, Azure)
• Knowledge of NodeJS, Python, D3, OpenFrameworks
• Experience with multiple development methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile or other iterative models
• Knowledge, if not hands-on experience, of emerging creative tools, AI-based creative solutions (e.g. Runway ML, Tensorflow Magenta) as well as well-known creative AI models (e.g. GPT 2/3, StyleGAN 1/2)
• Fluency in the usage of social media platforms, new media and community tools
