The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving best & timely execution for fixed income securities / products both in USD and Asian local currencies for the M&G funds as part of the Asian Fixed Income Dealing team. The candidate will ensure that all trades are executed in a timely and orderly manner, that best execution is achieved, and that allocations are fair, that dealing errors and breaches are minimised. The candidate will be maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Counterparties and ensuring that Counterparty risk limits are not breached. Being part of the Asian Fixed Income Dealing team, the candidate will be measured by the dealing performance which is born out in overall fund performance. The candidate will also be deputising for other dealers or Dealing Desk Analysts (DDA) to ensure sufficient cover is in place. The candidate will ensure that the Desk controls, internal guidelines and MAS regulations are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities for this role:
Dealing Desk Operational Responsibilities

  • Field all trade enquiries to and from dealers and help prioritise all dealing desk responses.
  • Undertake periodic / ad hoc tasks as and when required (e.g. Review of execution rates with the dealers annually, complete any counterparty breach forms, confirmation of novation process, and external stakeholder management / dealing relationships)
  • Ensure controls in respect of COB\'s monitoring are carried out as required with a good understanding of relevant RCM\'s across the Front Office teams.
  • Close liaison with Stakeholders and Risk, particularly around ongoing analysis and MI provision.
  • Work with management to improve processes, customer outcomes, ensuring risks are understood and controls are appropriately applied.
  • Liaise, support TCA reporting and represent the Fixed Income / Equity teams with other departments, including Information Systems, Data Management and Investment Operations.
Analysis / MI Responsibilities
  • Understand the local rules and regulations in regards to Best Execution and our oversight obligations in BAU.
  • Support the process and data reviews, building in improvements, including data analytics. Work to improve client and firm outcomes across FI Trading including Spread, Cash, Algo and PT, Futures, Convertible bonds, ETFs and Options.
  • Support the Dealing teams ongoing implementation monitoring via Monthly, Quarterly TERF\'s and interactions / usage also of our Independent TCA vendors analysis, (including peer groups).
  • Support for monthly summary MI, TERF minutes and related submissions to the Dealing Management Committee, while supporting periodic thematic Compliance reviews or Audit / AAF / ICF / OMF requests.
  • Generation of Hit Ratio%\'s / Counterparty Review Reporting both for quarterly / bi-annual counterparty meetings.
  • Work with the Fixed Income Dealing teams and business risk partners to improve TCA / TERF data.
  • Regular analysis support for Clients, Heads of Dealing and Fund Manager Assistants in relation to Implementation.
General Responsibilities:
  • Maintain desk procedures, how-to guides and risk registers, ensuring the all processes and controls are captured and adhered to by those involved in the implementation process.
  • SME for any broader project related work across Dealing activities, including potential vendor onboarding and analysis requirements such as the ESG and ISDA Programmes.
  • Support of key controls / monitoring via Aladdin and SurveillanceGrid, e.g. exceptions monitoring, price limits and liquidity analysis etc
  • Raise, test and sign off small changes to systems, working closely with system development and front office system support teams.
  • Support / lead local broker onboarding activities, while providing cross-training and cover, (including some bank holidays), for other Dealing Services activities, when necessary.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

The successful candidate should be a self-starter who has the ability to use their own initiative and work with individuals across different teams in the organisation.

Required:
  • Experience of and a good understanding of Fixed Income dealing and markets within the asset management industry.
  • Experience on a Fixed Income or Equity dealing desk / or related operational and settlement process exposure.
  • Previous knowledge / use of Aladdin, Bloomberg and 3rd-Party front office vendor or buy-side systems.
  • High level of accuracy and strong analytical / system skills with experience of execution quality / trading oversight and related MI production
  • Bright, enthusiastic and proactive. Due to the nature of the role, a self-starter is essential.
  • Numerate, logical and analytical approach, with a mathematical discipline at A-level/degree.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external contacts / brokers.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines with good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desired:
  • Knowledge of broad range of asset classes (e.g. Fixed Income, Equity, Convertibles and Derivatives)
  • Experience in an front office environment and an understanding of risk and control within the asset management industry.
  • Experience of maintaining procedural / workflow documentation and good MS Excel, PowerBI and/or VBA type skills.
  • Holder of the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), or local region equivalents, with full support offered towards other recognised professional qualifications.
