Job Summary A Food Technologist exhibits proven design and project planning ability utilizing creativity, innovation and presentation skills to provide best in class support to IFF clients. In this role, the Food Technologist has an established knowledge of recipe ingredients, customer bases, processes and flavor interactions in associated Category applications. The position requires refined problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills to liaise directly with customers confidently. The Food Technologist works independently on all assigned projects, and collaboratively on strategic, must-win and high value projects.How You Will Contribute

  • Lead beverage projects in development of new solutions and application or modification of existing products, recipes and/or processes based on needs of our customers as well as enlarge IFF solution and concept pool for future business opportunities.
  • Provide timely technical support and knowledge, using flavors, textural, stabilizing ingredients including hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, enzyme, protein and other functional ingredient into beverage and dairy applications, to internal and external customers with prioritisation based on customer status and project business impact. Specifically:
  • Professional and timely responses in line with agreed timeframes
  • Accurate and detailed technical project work and associated reports
  • Cost effective approaches and solutions to technical support projects
  • Run laboratory trials on formulations of various beverage and dairy products, as required.
  • Ensure all activities are in line with IFF policies, business strategies and Global Innovation Rules as well as safe, hygienic and efficient day-to-day operations of the Dairy, Beverage, Frozen dessert laboratory and facilities.
  • Regularly update and maintain technical self-note into relevant IFF databases that the company may develop and introduce from time to time.
  • Commitment to all company\xe2\x80\x99s policies, rules and regulations and IFF quality and continuous improvement programs
  • Attend and contribute to relevant knowledge meetings and various Company local and regional conferences, trade exhibitions and business meetings where required.
  • Assist and support line manager for projects, Technical-Service-Requests development, project and lab management.
  • Share and present IFF products\xe2\x80\x99 knowledge and application technology to internal and external customers.
  • Help to troubleshoot in design formulation and processing related issues
  • Conducting assigned technical related projects with minimal supervision and any other tasks or projects assigned by the Group Design Leader.
What you will need to be successful
  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or any other Food related or relevant discipline.
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant industrial experience in Beverage, Dairy, Food Ingredients, Flavor industry or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in designing product formulation of Beverage or Dairy industry or equivalent.
  • Familiar with ASEAN taste preference.
  • Good understanding of plant, milk-fermented drink, dry blended beverage, nutritional benefits in protein beverages and agglomerations would be highly regarded
  • Good knowledge of food ingredients, including:
  • Raw material knowledge, especially hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, protein, flavors, etc.
  • Product development (incl. Formulation)
  • Beverage or Dairy processing parameters
  • Understanding of commercial factors that affect product cost and selling price
  • Good communication skill both written and verbal, good fluency in English is required.
  • Willing to travel within ASEAN as and when required.
  • Good familiarity with Microsoft suite apart from Application related IT System or Application.
  • Logical, methodical, analytical thought process capable with accuracy and high attention to details.
  • Proactive and self-motivation, ability to engage across all levels.
  • Strong project management skills, prioritizing workload to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Agility to adapt.
