DESIGNATION : FP&A Lead – Retail Business Product Division

RESPONSIBILITIES
The FairPrice Retail Business FP&A team partners with the Retail Business leadership team to shape strategy, drive decisions & action. Our role is to surface the right facts & insights, connecting past learnings, current knowledge and future goals to drive necessary decisions. We partner a broad set of stakeholders to facilitate the needed outcomes. We work closely across functions, divisions & business units, to understand needs & challenges, so as to ensure that what we work to implement will add practical value. The FP&A lead – Retail Business Product Division, plays a critical role to as Finance Partner to the Product Division leadership team in delivering business growth, profitability results, as well as customer & social impact. Key business focus areas include

  • customer led category management to drive sales & share
  • procurement strategy to enable strategic supplier partnership
  • assortment, pricing & promotion optimisation to moderate cost of living while generating sustainable margins
  • service, supply resilience & business continuity
  • end-to-end value chain improvements
  • various front and back margin enhancement initiatives
  • Business Partnering to deliver growth, profitability & social impact results
    • Provide data driven insights; facilitate comprehensive understanding of the business from various perspectives - Customer, Product, Channel & Competition
    • Make recommendations to strengthen plans
    • Facilitate decisions & drive action
    • Lead or participate in finance or cross-functional projects
    • Develop financial models and analyses to improve outcomes for strategic initiatives
  • Business Planning, Financial Accounting & Management Reporting
    • Lead efficient processes and Deliver effective outcomes
    • Planning & Forecasting cycles - Fit for Purpose
      • Clear anchoring assumptions, performance levers, sufficiency of plans, resource needs, risks & opportunities
      • Inform target setting & resource allocation decisions
      • Delivers aligned Budget that serves as financial results blueprint for the business
      • Delivers light touch Forecast pulse checks for course correction
    • Management Reporting - Timely, accurate, learnings & action oriented
      • Reporting cadence that provides timely & clear signals on Financial Results
      • Targeted analysis to surface insights
      • Effective partnership to identify Actions required
      • Effective monitoring of required interventions
    • Drive continuous process improvement including automation, tools & documentation
    • Partner to prepare/deliver effective communications including presentation packages for Management and Board
  • Talent & Leadership – Inspire & Develop Our People
    • Lead & develop high performing, engaged and customer focused finance team
    • Deepen financial understanding of business partners



QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent)
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with ISCA
  • 8-12 years’ relevant experience
  • Track record of effective business partnership & results delivery in a dynamic, complex environment
  • Retail or FMCG industry experience
  • SAP FI, Anaplan skills
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – especially Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
