About the job Freight Manager
We are currently looking for a freight & inventory manager who reports to Head of Distribution Centre & Logistics for our Singapore based operation. We are in the most exciting phase of the business Warehouse digitalisation and transformation. This is a newly created position; we aim to bring your expertise into our organisation to further support our fast-growing business across omni-channel. You will be able to use your experience and pioneer a best practice in our platform.Uniquely, we are one of the very few 100% Singaporean owned and operated distribution centre. In this role, you will be accountable for:
Freight management:
- In charge of coordinating with Forwarders, exporters, transportation crews, warehousing companies, and retailers on all matters related to shipping, logistics and freight management
- Establish relationships with vendors and suppliers to develop new business opportunities on freight related matters
- Optimizing operating cost through negotiating rates and schedules for shipments, identifying best rates for freight shipments
- Ensure operational risk is minimized through engaging insurance companies for cargos damage & loss during transport
- Evaluating potential clients shipping needs and recommending appropriate solutions
- Assess carrier performance based on customer feedback and implementing changes where necessary
To perform this role, you\'ll have:
- Passion for the logistics industry
- A degree in supply chain or logistics management
- Have minimum 5 years of experience in logistics management or similar industry
- Comfort level working with large database and spreadsheets
- Good communication skills
