Description
Reporting to the Head of Products, the Physical Gasoline Trader will be tasked with a range of responsibilities aimed at optimizing trading operations and maximizing profitability.
Responsibilities
The Physical Gasoline Trader will devise comprehensive trading strategies, both physical and paper-based, strategically capitalizing on prevailing market conditions. The role will involve expanding trading volume by venturing beyond system barrels and executing third-party trades with greater frequency, thus contributing to the company\xe2\x80\x99s market share growth. To maintain a competitive edge, staying well-informed about market changes and conditions will be essential. The Physical Gasoline Trader will analyze current and future market trends to formulate blending strategies and ensure daily exposure is managed to maximize profitability while maintaining acceptable price risks. Additionally, the Physical Gasoline Trader will be responsible for monitoring daily pricing exposure and executing hedges as required, as well as overseeing the system refineries\xe2\x80\x99 length to trade barrels profitably while preventing tank top occurrences. Compliance with the company\xe2\x80\x99s credit policy will also be a key responsibility, involving pre-trade verification of counterparty credit limits. Regular reporting on trades and market conditions, both on a weekly and monthly basis, will help inform decision-making. Lastly, the Physical Gasoline Trader will be expected to take on any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
The successful candidate should hold a degree in Business, Engineering, or an equivalent field, and have a solid foundation of 4-6 years of relevant working experience. Strong leadership qualities, strategic thinking capabilities, effective planning and organizing skills, as well as proficiency in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making will be vital for success in this role. Furthermore, possessing excellent people skills and negotiation abilities will contribute to your effectiveness in managing trading relationships and optimizing trading outcomes.
