:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Claims team while participating in calculating and submitting demurrage and all other claims related to vessel employment.
  • Assume global responsibility for all vessel claims, demurrages and hires in Hafnia.
  • Evaluate, establish, and uphold claim methodologies, processes, and procedures to enhance the efficiency of our claims management.
  • Collaborate with various departments such as Chartering, Operations, Controls, Accounting, and Insurance to streamline procedures and ensure swift claim resolution.
  • Maintain robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, displaying persistence and resilience.
  • Streamline operational processes to minimize gaps and enhance operational efficiency, maximizing the benefits of process enhancements.
  • Engage with customers to expedite our accounts receivable; claim settlements, align perspectives on claims, ensure accuracy, negotiate, and resolve disputes through internal legal channels or defence clubs.
  • Provide feedback to Chartering and Operations on commercial/contractual terms, issue identification, and solutions.
  • Supervise all activities to ensure the timely submission of claims and revenues in accordance with charter-party terms and relevant KPIs.
  • Ensure close alignment with the Controls team to maintain high standards and stringent governance across global departments.
  • Insurance for pool related activities.
  • Utilise BI reporting internally in the Claims department and provide reports to the commercial segment on Accounts Receivable, settlement rates, days outstanding etc.
  • Travel to be expected overseas offices and clients/customers to ensure collaboration across departments and host on-site claims settlement meetings.
  • Manage risk control, elimination, and mitigation efforts.
  • Ensure timely collection of all outstanding, following Hafnia\xe2\x80\x99s escalation process.
  • Prepare, analyse and review various reports.
  • Actively participate and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures.
  • Lead and support your team of direct reports, overseeing team structures, job definitions, targets, recruitment, appraisals, feedback, training, development, and reward allocation in alignment with company culture and guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate a track record of 5 years in managing teams and serving as a role model for team members.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and people leadership skills, including the ability to develop, support, challenge, motivate, and coach team members.
  • Be an expert in charter-party standard formats and claims handling.
  • Possess a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Maritime Studies, Maritime Law, Finance or related discipline.
  • Have at least 10 years of industry experience, preferably within the product or chemical tankers segment.
  • A strong industry network with brokers, charterers and shipping lawyers is an advantage.
  • Possess excellent negotiation skills.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and proficient verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Display a solid understanding of Maritime law and possess a strong commercial aptitude.
  • Naturally inclined toward analytical thinking and proficient with numbers.
