We are looking for a Global Commodity Manager who will have a direct impact in creating value improvements for the business. This role involves providing strategic supplier selection & conduct negotiation process, coordinating with relevant cross-functional team and ensuring best value from the supplier-base.
About the role
Ensure compliance to Procurement Policies and Procedures.
Supplier price and contract/agreement negotiation.
Supplier Development – lead supplier development programs relevant to the Commodity Strategy.
Supplier Risk Management – for suppliers within the commodity, including mitigation plans and closure plans.
Supplier Relationship Management, Supplier Business Reviews and Scorecards.
Stakeholder Management and communication, primarily at the senior level, internally and externally.
Time Management – Closely follow up on deliverable according to agreed time schedule.
Commodity Strategy Development and Execution.
SMART and Bilateral negotiation on piece part cost.
Should Cost Analysis of High-Risk High-Impact (HRHI) and New Unique Difficult Design (NUDD).
Sourcing Council presentations on HRHI and NUDD parts/components.
Tooling assessment in relation to supplier’s capability and manufacturability with reasonable economical scale.
Responsibilities:
Full commercial responsibility of Metal Mechanics (Machining, Stamping & Casting).
Machining – Precision Turning, Milling, Drilling and CG (Centreless Grinding).
Stamping – Progressive, Multi-slide and Deep drawn.
Casting – Zinc, Aluminum and Magnesium (with experience of post process)
Additional requirement. Good experience in surface treatment such as Powder Coating, Ceramic Coating, Passivation, EG etc.
Multi-sourcing activities – collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to implement alternative materials/manufacturing solutions/ multiple sites for Metal Mechanics designs.
Responsible for the Metal Mechanics commodity strategy, develop, constantly review, and maintain its relevance to the Procurement Blueprint, Technology roadmap, Market trends and Forces, both globally and within region/locality.
Responsible to complete supplier risk assessment including mitigation plans and closure actions.
Manage supplier relationship, conduct supplier business review, complete scorecard and segmentation.
Commodity Market Intelligence – responsible for gathering and informing stakeholders of the relevant market/supplier intelligence, globally, regionally and locally.
Commodity localization plans in Asia and South America as to maximize the business revenue.
About you
Minimum 6 to 8 years’ experience in Procurement (preferably in Metal Mechanics commodity) and minimum 4 to 5 years managerial skill.
Preferable at least a basic degree in Business related fields and or any Engineering discipline.
Must possess high level of integrity, honest and with trustworthy personality.
Possess leadership and administrative capability.
Good adaptability and able to manage workload effectively.
Well organized, systematic approach, ability to manage & resolve complex problem. Good analytical skill and diplomatic behavior.
Comfortable working in a fast pace organization with the ability to adapt with the required. changes and to support the growth of Organization.
Flexible mobility – 50% Business travelling when required.
