The Role Responsibilities
Responsible for the digital and core banking platforms end to end for the Consumer, Private and Business Banking (CPBB) business. The overall role entails developing strategy, ensuring delivery, collaboration and alignment with business as well as developing a high performing engineering team. From a platform management perspective, the role includes designing technology solutions, defining and executing platform roadmaps and services that meet business requirements, leveraging a consistent target architecture. Manage and oversee the product lifecycle, support, and continuous improvement across the portfolio. Lead all aspects of product engineering in their designated segment, including architecture, design, engineering, security (in accordance with Information Security policies) and automation. Responsible for core banking systems and digital platforms, this role will provide thought leadership and work cohesively with the business to develop and deliver on product and platform roadmaps Strategy

  • Develop the CPBB TTO strategic direction and roadmap, in alignment with the Business Strategy and investment appetite.
  • Create digital agenda and commercialise innovative use of technology for CPBB business.
  • Contribute to the consumer banking strategic direction and roadmap, in alignment with the business investment appetite.
  • Drive innovation and deliver the technology transformation agenda with the aim of making the Bank a leading digital bank.
  • Drive transformation of CPBB businesses to adopt scaled agile delivery to drive outcome-based KPIs and improve customer experience.
  • Build out a strong engineering team and lead the move to transform the Bank into a fully Agile software development organisation.
  • Drive strategy to streamline processes, enhance productivity, reduce risk, improve controls, leveraging technologies.
Business
  • Work with businesses to implement and deliver rapid digital products and services to customers, drive outcome-based KPIs and improve customer experience.
  • Lead core banking, consumer and channels technology teams to drive transformation of businesses to adopt customer journey delivery model.
  • Lead inputs to investment planning/prioritisation with the businesses and T&I.
  • The Global Head, Digital CPBB Technology represents TTO at CPBB Management Meetings and committees, as required.
Processes
  • The Global Head, Digital CPBB Technology is accountable to CPBB CEO and CPBB Digital Head for technology end-to-end. The individual is responsible for the complete process of providing technology solutions to CPBB, including solutions provided from other teams or from third parties.
  • The individual plays an essential role to embed Agile development and DevOps implementation in his area of responsibility. The individual needs to team with the Global Head of Enterprise Technology Services to drive implementation.
  • Responsible for compliance with processes required to deliver the objectives of the role/team.
  • Drive adoption of best practices, technology standards and methodologies.
People and Talent
  • Attract, employ and retain high quality people such that CPBB Technology teams are skilled and experienced to deliver new digital experience for our customers, build a fully Agile development organisation, and promote team diversity across technical capability, background, gender and race.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations for their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Ensure succession planning is in place for critical roles.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
  • Create a motivational and challenging environment for staff which is conducive to creativity and performance with customer centricity in mind
Risk Management
  • Proactive in seeking regular assurance that the Global Head Digital CPBB Teams are performing to an acceptable risk and control standard.
  • Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees.
  • As required, act as the risk control owner under the Group\xe2\x80\x99s risk management framework at the appropriate level.
  • Include all necessary internal, legal and regulatory controls through the development of the Segment\xe2\x80\x99s Product requirements.
  • Balance business performance delivery and cost management constraints with risk and control matters to ensure that they do not materially threaten the Group\xe2\x80\x99s ability to remain within risk appetite.
Governance
  • Attend the CPBB product Architecture councils (where relevant), ensuring compliance with Architecture Principles and adherence to the Architecture Roadmap. Embed the Group\xe2\x80\x99s values and code of conduct in the CPBB CIO teams to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all salient SCB governance frameworks where there are direct touchpoints with them or any subsequent downstream influence from the CPBB technology teams.
  • Ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with local banking laws and anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines.
  • Manage the CPBB Digital CIO Teams versus schedule and scope dependencies agreed with the Product Owners in the Business Segment
  • Responsible for delivering \xe2\x80\x98effective governance\xe2\x80\x99; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and Willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
  • Represent CPBB Banking at the relevant Process Governance Committees

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Lead the CPBB Digital TTO teams to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles:
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
