Job Summary & Responsibilities
Global Investment Research (GIR) forms a vital link between the Firm\'s business divisions by providing analysis that significantly impacts markets, companies, industries, economies and currencies worldwide in three main areas: economics, portfolio strategy and securities analysis. In partnership with the analyst teams and other constituents within GIR, the Supervisory Analyst helps provide accurate and compliant commercial product for use by buy-side firms to structure their portfolios and the Goldman Sachs sales force in their interactions with investing clients.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
Working as a key member of the Research Publishing Group, the Supervisory Analyst is responsible for:

  • Managing the SA review and production process of research reports and other products (e.g., podcasts, videos) from the point of submission to distribution
  • Engaging with analysts to ensure that research adheres to both regulatory and firm requirements and meets the highest standard of quality
  • Working on ad hoc projects such as systems development and reviewing and updating SA guidelines based on Legal/Compliance policies and research management objectives
  • Providing guidance and training to GIR team members on policies and procedures
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor\'s degree required
  • 3-5+ years\' experience as a Supervisory Analyst (SA/editing skills must be demonstrated through a standard assessment) or minimum of 6 relevant experience as a VP
  • FINRA Series 16 qualification. Series 7,4 qualifications would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of standard terms and calculations for accounting and investments
  • Ability to edit and rework reports written by non-native English speakers
  • Prior experience and proficiency in a Windows-based PC environment, knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with all disciplines of investment research including equities, credit, economics, portfolio strategy, commodities and others

  • Ability to multi-task and work with teams as well as independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - must manage relationships with large group of internal clients, including direct managers, global CMG counterparts, analyst teams, Research Management, Merchandising, Legal & Compliance, and other departments
  • Flexible on primary region of support (Americas, Europe, Asia)
