:Great opportunity for a senior lawyer to take on a crucial role acting as a member of the APAC Business and Legal Affairs team, providing business and legal affairs support as required by the business in APAC, with a particular focus on the South East Asia and North East Asia (Japan and Korea) businesses.This includes being a vital, trusted advisor to the SVP Head of Business and Legal Affairs APAC and the General Manager South/South East Asia and North East Asia and the related regional business teams; delivering first hand and first class business and legal affairs support on matters of key strategic, financial and reputational importance to company business; and ensuring that the highest standards of corporate governance, risk management and compliance with law, policy and regulation are observed at all times.Professional Experience

• Qualified lawyer (Singapore is preferable but US/UK/ANA qualifications will be considered)
• At least 7 years post qualification experience in a reputable law firm and/or relevant business
• Relevant private practice and/or in house experience in content Distribution and Production from the Technology, Media, Telecoms and/or IP sectors with strong commercial/industry experience
• Experience and/or understanding of promoting risk management, compliance and sound corporate governance
• Experience in supporting commercial businesses in the region
• Understanding of the structures and systems within which broadcasters, producers, distributors (whether traditional or non-traditional e.g. digital) operate
• Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework particularly in the region within which the business operates

Knowledge & Skills

• Assists the SVP Head of Legal and Business Affairs APAC, EVP and Associate General Counsel, Global Distribution and Director of Business & Legal Affairs, Production on legal matters, including planning, organising and managing of work activities across service/department.
• A track record of providing proactive, specialist, timely and authoritative legal advice and support to senior leaders and key decision-makers at the highest levels.
• Experience supervising the work of more junior members of the legal team, including line management as required, and planning/overseeing training and development
• Commercially aware with an understanding of the issues affecting the company and media and production industry generally.
• Experience undertaking policy and advocacy work, including preparing and coordinating submissions on areas of law or policy that affect the company; and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of recent legal and policy developments in a specific area of law, and ensures that clients are aware of implications.
• Supports dispute resolution processes and strategies.
• Works unsupervised and conducts a general caseload, referring upwards as required.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and relevant legislation and regulation
• Supports training and knowledge management activities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clarify complex issues and concepts for non-lawyers.
• Ability to work supportively as a team member and to build and manage relationships at all levels.
• Ability to manage diverse workstreams and to apply complex analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Ability to work across multiple time zones, territories and business lines
• Provides specialist legal support to major projects.
• Motivated to develop themselves and to contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
