Job Summary
This position reports to Senior Network Manager to cover infrastructure network design, network connectivities, network implementation. We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Network Engineer Trainee to join our infrastructure team, who is eager to start their careers in enterprise networking and IT infrastructure management. The trainee will undergo structured on-the-job training and mentorship to build technical expertise in network administration, system support, and IT operations within FAT, UAT and maybe production environment.
You will work closely with senior engineers to support, monitor, and optimize network performance, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity across our corporate and customer systems.
Job Decription
During the traineeship, the Network Engineer Trainee will:
Assist in network setup, configuration, and maintenance for switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Support LAN/WAN connectivity, network segmentation, and VLAN management.
Participate in network monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and performance.
Learn to manage network security controls, such as firewalls, VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs).
Support system documentation -- including network diagrams, IP address management, and configuration records.
Assist in incident response and root cause analysis for network-related issues.
Work with system and application teams to ensure smooth integration and connectivity between environments.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network reliability and security.
Provide basic end-user support for network connectivity issues as required.
Job Requirements / To Be Developed During Training:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, routing, and switching).
Familiarity with Alcatel / Fortinet / Aruba networking devices.
Basic knowledge of firewall, VPN, and network security principles.
Exposure to Windows and Linux server environments.
Hands-on experience (from coursework or labs) with packet tracing, network troubleshooting, and configuration tools (e.g., Wireshark, etc.).
Good understanding of OSI model, IP subnetting, and network addressing.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
