Job Responsibilities:
Based at Singapore HQ, this position reports directly to the Group CEO. You will lead a team of technical professionals across
Singapore, UK, Mexico
, and
China
to deliver innovative customer solutions and implement strategies and processes that support the organisation's business objectives.
Technical Leadership & Strategy
+ Define and drive the organisation's technical vision, strategy, and roadmap.
+ Ensure solutions are scalable, robust, high-quality, and aligned with business objectives.
+ Provide clear updates on strategy, project progress, risks, and resource needs to executive leadership.
New Product Introduction (NPI) & Development
+ Lead the full NPI lifecycle from concept and feasibility through tooling, validation, pilot runs, and commercial launch.
+ Implement stage-gate reviews, ensuring quality, cost, and timeline targets are met.
+ Optimise solutions for manufacturability (DFM), testability (DFT), and serviceability (DFS).
+ Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, and proactively mitigate risks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Partner with Business Development to provide compelling technical solutions and win new projects.
+ Work closely with Supply Chain to establish scalable sourcing, procurement, and logistics.
+ Collaborate with QA on quality standards, validation, testing, and regulatory compliance.
+ Align with Finance and Operations to oversee product cost targets throughout development and production.
Team Leadership & Culture
+ Build, lead, and mentor high-performing technical teams across engineering and NPI disciplines.
+ Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
+ Mentor team members to enhance capabilities for future growth.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field); Master's degree preferred.
At least10 years in engineering/technology roles, ideally within medical devices, plastics, or silicone materials.
At least 5 years in senior technical leadership (e.g., Director of Engineering, Engineering Manager).
Proven track record of leading complex NPI/NPD projects from concept through to high-volume production. Strong understanding of stage-gate methodologies, PLM systems, and full product lifecycle management.
Expertise in manufacturing processes, supply chain, quality systems (ISO 13485/9001), and cost engineering. Familiarity with regulatory standards (FDA, FCC, CE).
Solid grasp of DFM, DFT, and DFS principles.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Skilled at building, motivating, and developing high-performing technical teams.
Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Proficient in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Hybrid) and tools (Jira, Asana, MS Project).
Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and complex project timelines.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong business acumen and customer focus.
Experience scaling NPI in high-growth environments and working with international supply chains.
