Role Mission
This position partners closely with functional heads, General Managers, Controllers in the markets, supporting strategic planning and all aspects of commercial decision of an aggressive corporate strategy developed to achieve or exceed business and financial objectives of the region. Responsible for the financial controls of the entire Gucci South Asia & Pacific, effective regional consolidation of financial management, planning and budgeting, management reporting, cash flow management, strengthening internal controls, as well as producing regular financial reports and analysis to management. The position is also responsible for participating in ad hoc projects such as evaluation of proposed new business opportunities. This is a business-critical role that has ownership over preparing, presenting and explaining all financial information, as well as partnering with key stakeholders across the business.
Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as partner and advisor to the CFO with a major role in the formulation and implementation of business strategies;
  • Engage with business leaders on strategy setting to deliver commercial and strategic advice and to ensure synergy and efficient use of funds;
  • Responsible for management reporting, variance analysis by providing timely and accurate financial information to management team and headquarter to support decision-making process;
  • Responsible for overseeing the budget process, collate, interpret and communicate budget and financial performance to stakeholders;
  • Establish strong controls, compliance and reporting environment;
  • Safeguard the company assets and ensure integrity of the financial processes and reporting by implementing effective internal controls;
  • Perform project evaluation for existing and new businesses, feasibility studies;
  • Develop, implement and manage the upkeep of corporate governance standards and measures and ensuring compliance to statutory and governmental regulatory requirements;
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies, including but not limited to ensuring adequate infrastructure to support operations and minimise financial and legal risk exposure;
  • Identify and streamline finance processes, ERP system and further software integration;
  • Other Ad Hoc projects or responsibilities as required.

Team Management
  • Manage a team of finance staff to ensure the accuracy of their work, the achievement of deadlines and their services are of the highest quality;
  • Organise and structure the team to deliver optimal, cost-effective service;
  • Build up and manage the finance and accounting team through identifying and developing capable employees by different way of coaching and training and the quality of their work environment;
  • Drive efficiency and standardization of work throughout the finance function
  • Foster the communication and interaction with finance teams from regional headquarter and shared service centers.

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in Finance, and MBA and/or CA is preferred. Big 4 Training and qualified accountant with minimum 10 years’ post qualification experience within a multinational environment, preferably in luxury goods, FMCG, trading or retail sector;
  • An exceptionally strong technical background with highest integrity, experience in a compliance role and structured with solid controllership experience;
  • Strong analytical and numeric skills with budgeting, forecasting and planning exposure;
  • Strong business leadership and communication skills are essential for this role, and so is strong cultural awareness combined with significant change management capabilities. Mature with effective leadership skills with drive, innovation and strong sense of commitment and adaptive to change;
  • Inspirational finance leader with a hands-on approach to problem solving and the ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to manage competing demands and prioritize initiatives in a fluid, dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment;
  • Good team player with proven ability to partner with business leaders;
  • Strong knowledge in technology to improve processes and automation level and with experience on ERP (JD Edwards, SAP and Hyperion a plus).
