About the job: If you are looking to excel and make a difference, take a closer look at us…The incumbent provides strategic leadership on all credit matters pertaining to Consumer, Corporate and Private Banking Business Units.

Responsibilities

• Establish a robust credit evaluation framework on credit underwriting, analytics, collections & recoveries and fraud management for the Bank.

• Ensure that the credit evaluation framework and processes are in compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements set by MAS and BNM.

• In charge of the overall day-to-day operations of Credit Department and ensure that all credit applications are processed within the established timeline.

• Support the various business units to meet their objectives while taking into account the Bank’s risk appetite and adherence to statutory requirements.

• Strategise the Department’s collection and recovery efforts with the aim of maximising recoveries and minimising losses.

• Work closely with Head Office to enhance the Bank’s anti-fraud management framework, models and rules management.

• Perform credit risk monitoring on portfolio to analyse risk trends and identify root causes, covering the entire credit cycle from origination, portfolio monitoring to collections.

• Lead the digitalisation of credit-related systems to enhance operational efficiency and derive cost savings.
  

• A recognised Degree in any discipline.

• 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in the financial sector, with at least 5 years’ experience in a Head of Credit capacity.

• Experience in handling loans and credit facilities offered by Consumer, Corporate and Private Banking business units.

• Experience in handling collections and recoveries.

• Prior experience with risk related systems will be an added advantage.

• Strong presentation and influencing skills required to put forward proposals to the Senior Management.

• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• A proven track record of consistent performance and achievement.
