Wealth and Personal Banking has four key business areas responsible for efficiently bringing the best of HSBC to our clients through a broad and relevant suite of wealth and retail banking capabilities: Asset Management, Global Private Banking & Wealth, HSBC Life, Retail Banking & Strategy and COO & Digital Transformation.We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Business Planning and Performance Management.Principal ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning and Productivity Management:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the bank\'s strategic planning process. Collaborate with senior executives to set short- and long-term business goals, and ensure alignment with the bank\'s mission and vision
  • Design and implement performance measurement frameworks, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing balanced scorecards, to monitor business performance
  • Provide regular analysis and reports on performance trends, highlighting areas for improvement and success
  • Conduct in-depth business analysis to identify opportunities for growth, operational efficiency, and cost optimization. Support business units with data-driven insights and recommendations for decision-making
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process. Work with finance and other departments to ensure budgets align with strategic priorities and are accurately tracked throughout the year
  • Oversee strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring they are executed on time and within budget. Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
  • Communicate business plans, performance metrics, and strategic goals to key stakeholders, including senior management, board members, and investors. Ensure clear and transparent communication
  • Lead and manage a team of business analysts, planners, and performance management professionals. Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to ensure high performance and professional development
  • Identify and assess risks associated with business plans and performance metrics. Work with risk management teams to develop mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations
  • Ensure sales orchestration and rigor within the Sales team and maintain overview of key distribution strategies across all channels and ensure collaboration among the teams, new ways of workings are efficient and effective
Training & Competency:
  • Ensure sales roles are appropriately licensed to meet FAA MAS Financial Advisor Act (FAA) 110 - Notice on Minimum Entry and Examination Requirements for Representatives of Licensed Financial Advisors and Exempt Financial Advisors
  • Work closely with Regulatory Compliance and Sales Management on assessing impact on
  • sales operating model arising from changes on RNF licensing by MAS and/or roles profile
  • Responsible for Sales onboarding and Continuous Professional Development Training for Distribution
  • Lead planning and execution for Distribution, working with IBF, HR, Learning and Sales Management to benefits of programme is delivered
  • Ensure Sales Managers are adhering to expected sales discipline and practices across teams to deliver quality outcome
Incentive & Recognition:
  • Oversee the end to end Performance framework for entire Distribution
  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing incentive plan to ensure we motivate and reward employees across distribution
  • Develop and maintain employee recognition programs and ensure the recognition plans and leadership training event are aligned with the performance framework policies
  • Ensure appropriate sales management practices are maintained and drive good sales conduct culture
Requirements
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field (MBA preferred)
  • At least 10 years of experience in business planning, performance management, or related roles, preferably in the banking or financial services industry
  • Strong ability to communicate that impacts in a way which motivates the team and gives them clarity of purpose, questions, and complaints
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and across different cultures
  • Demonstrate experience in leading, managing, and coaching teams of both regulated and non-regulated frontline teams, and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver
  • Strong financial, risk and regulatory experience including an understanding of the external operating environment
  • Strong knowledge of international banking regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to influence as well as developing strong and productive relationships with key senior management and colleagues
  • Experience working in relevant market or context, i.e. Knowledge and understanding of relevant risk, compliance, or audit standards
  • A track record of delivery in a growth environment to drive an increased customer base and greater share of wallet
  • The role may require occasional travel to meet with business units, stakeholders, or attend industry events. The Head of Business Planning and Performance Management should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
