OVERVIEW
Oversees the entire operation and the proper maintenance of the Day Activity Centre, based on the needs and the requirements specified by the Headquarters, National Council of Social Services, Ministry of Social & Family and other Government Ministries.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. General Operations
i) Establish guidelines and policies for the operations of the Day Activity Centre (\xe2\x80\x9cDAC\xe2\x80\x9d) - within the NCSS, Collective Agreement and Best Practices Guidelines and with the aim of improving efficiency, operations and morale of the staff and the trainees.
ii) Maintain inventory of all fixed assets of the DAC
iii) Establish Budgets, Goals & Deliverables
Set short and long-term plans and deliverable goals in making the DAC a cost effective operations to add value for our trainees / clients.
Review and endorse all budget submission.
Review and analyse plans and goals and take appropriate actions to correct the situation.
iv) Staff and Support Staff Administration
Supervise, coach and motivate current long-serving staff to improve work performance.
Counselling and handling of staff grievances.
Write open appraisal and performance with focus on Key Performance Indicators for direct staff.
Review all staff appraisals submitted by the Business Units
Encourage and recommend staff for training, deployment, re-training by attending conference and in upgrading their skill.
Foster and encourage staff to participate in all activities organised by the Association including the Special School.
v) Clients Administration
To work with DAC Executive to establish and commit to an overall plans to improve the lives and work of our clients, executed by the Training Officer.
To ensure that DAC Executive maintains the clients\xe2\x80\x99 profile, review their abilities and strength periodically
Ensure viable contract transport system for the clients
vi) Attend / Organise Sub-Committee meeting
Programme Sub-Committee
Organise and co-ordinate with other departments in compiling information for the meeting
As secretary taking minutes and follow-up on action items.
Assessment and recommendation of new clients to the centre
Establish and maintain admission criteria to the centre
Highlight problem cases for review and possible corrective actions
Other Sub-Committees or Projects
As directed by the Executive Director

By Ministry of Social & Family
Collaboration with vendors and or sponsors
vii) Association Annual General Meeting
Write an annual report of DAC.
Participate in the AGM as an ex-officio member
viii) Maintain a high profile and Image of the DAC
Co-ordinate and attend to visitors from schools, various institutions, corporate companies etc. to raise profile of DAC.
Participate in public talks and seminars to raise greater awareness and education on the needs of the trainees in our workshop.
Get clearance from the Executive Director before giving any permission or talk to the external media.
Write articles for the DAC for the Association\xe2\x80\x99s newsletter with the aim of promoting awareness, educational and participation from the neighbourhood and volunteers.
2. DAC Physical Building / Facilities
i) Establish guidelines and policies with the aim of maintaining a high level of safety and cleanliness (hygienic) of the surrounding.
ii) Ensure that the facilities are properly maintained.
iii) Establish guidelines and policies for the use of the vehicles (both goods and passenger buses) to improve on the efficiency and operations in carrying out the functions required by the centre.
