About Our Client

Our client is an extremely successful player in the CPG space. With close to 1,500 stores globally, they are a dominant market leader in certain markets and are now investing aggressively across more than 200 international branches in North America, Greater China, Middle East & Africa and the UK.

The Head of Digital Data, Global role is newly created in the Chief Digital Officer's organization and will be a perfect blend of Data Science and Data Engineering. Besides being a pioneer member of the Digital COE, you will have a chance to hire and train a team of data scientists and data engineers.

Reporting directly to the Chief Digital Officer, Global ('CDO'), this role delivers data procedures and policies while working closely with various departments to prepare and analyze data assets. Other duties include leading inter-disciplinary teams, improving and streamlining data systems within the company, and driving innovation.

This is a critical role and will be measured on the following criteria:

• Data Strategy - drive marketing and operational reporting by designing data strategies that are closely linked to successful sales initiatives
• Decision science - design goals for the data science team to drive data modelling as RFM, store locations predictive models, Data segmentation clusters and forecasting analysis
• Team management - as the leader for this team, you will be accountable for efficiency and progression
• Data privacy - implement data privacy policies and ensure compliance with data protection regulations
• Develop strong stakeholder relationships across segment and business groups so that global leaders are up to date on digital transformation efforts within the organization
• Own the data partner ecosystem and third-party partnerships

The Successful Applicant

• Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a relevant discipline
• Eight or more years in a data strategy, decision science role with prior experience in building a team from the ground up and driving the data by design evolution models
• Experience in implementing new technologies at a regional or global level - firm is moving to PowerBI
• Agile expert and able to bring strong reasoning, define new frameworks and challenge "old" processes and business models
• Track record of applying transformational best practices through thought leadership, innovation and cultural change
• Ideally, you work in a CPG, QSR, FSI firm that deals with a large amount of consumer data and lead data strategy at an APAC or Global level
• Expertise in marketing automation tools, BI reporting and SAS marketing solutions
• Passion for using data to influence business and marketing decisions
• Flexible attitude, ability to work with limited resources and ambiguity as the firm continues to grow
