Our success is based on the competence and results-oriented cooperation of our employees.Position Overview:Reporting to the Regional Vice President, the Head of Finance, APAC will be responsible to oversee all spectrum of finance activities including controlling, reporting, budgeting and analysis. The incumbent will work closely with commercial leads of individual subsidiaries with tailored level of support in different countries. He/she will directly manage finance operations in Singapore; provide leadership and overseeing the finance function in South East Asia region while responsible for coordination & consolidation with the rest of Asia Pacific region (Greater China, Australia, South Korea, India). He/she is responsible to ensure compliance of finance and accounting standards in Asia Pacific according to HQ requirements.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSFinancial Business Partner, Analysis and Reporting

  • Manage and oversee the functions of financial performance review and analysis, management reporting, and review to ensure accuracy month end closing for Asia Pacific region.
  • Analyze financial information to prepare decisions for VP Sales.
  • Participate actively and be the voice of Finance, supporting commercial Sales and collaborating across functions to drive business results.
  • Drive, coordinate, prepare and track forecast, annual budget and forward-looking strategic plans.
  • Drive gross margin and inventory management improvement initiatives, propose recommendations to overall cost management and review allocation of overheads cost.
  • Prepare variance reports, net margin analysis and other account analysis, when required.
  • Initiate, calculate, and work cross-functionally to support Sales Incentive accrual and quarterly/annually payout for the commercial team in Singapore.
  • Any ad-hoc projects to achieve operation excellence.
Financial Accounting
  • In-charge of financial accounting of the region which includes monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting and closings for Asia Pacific to the Global HQ
  • Prepare, examine, analyze, consolidate, and plan accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance to reporting and procedural standards set by the Global HQ as well as local GAAP.
  • Responsible for overseeing general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable and internal audit from Berlin for some sites in Asia Pacific.
  • Uphold compliance and keep commercial teams aware / in line with company and accounting guidelines.
  • Manage working capital metrics involving receivables and inventories.
  • Manage tax planning activities for the region, including overseeing preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and coordinate inter-co cross charging, transfer pricing and treasury activities.
  • Oversee journal entries, ledger maintenance, reconciliation and analysis of general ledger, bank statements and cost accounting ledgers of some sites in Asia Pacific.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance with full responsibility for establishing and maintaining accounting principles.
Leadership and Stakeholder Management:
  • Lead, coach and manage direct reports while providing guidance and support to respective country finance heads in a matrix organization.
  • Collaborate with Asia Pacific and HQ stakeholders to drive financial performance and achieve strategic goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management team, offering financial insights and recommendations to optimize business outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including tax authorities, auditors, and regulatory agencies, to support business operations and compliance.
.Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Degree in Accountancy with a CPA or related accreditation
  • At least 12-15 years of overall professional experience; minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting/controlling and 3 years of broad financial management experience.
  • Previous experience in regional role is required.
  • Technology savvy with knowledge of accounting and reporting software i.e. SAP
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management and development.
  • Possess strong communication skills, with ability to work in and influence a complex matrix structure across divisions, functions, and countries.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with good interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Chinese.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time.
