What You\'ll DoCisco is looking for a government affairs professional to join our global team as the Head of Government Affairs in ASEAN. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of International Government Affairs, you will lead Cisco\'s government engagements and public policy efforts throughout ASEAN.Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building relationships with key leaders, elected officials, and policymakers at all levels of government, particularly in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam
  • Providing direct support and counsel to senior Cisco executives in their government engagements
  • Advancing public policies that bolster ICT adoption and enable Cisco\'s mission to power an inclusive future for all
  • Engaging Cisco in local policymaking processes, including representing Cisco in industry coalitions and managing our trade association activities
  • Working closely with the President of Cisco ASEAN and country leaders throughout the region, as well as with senior executives globally
  • Advising on current political and policy trends across ASEAN, including potential business implications
  • Collaborating with our global supply chain team on industrial and trade policies
Who You\'ll Work WithCisco\'s Government Affairs team represents the company with governments around the world to build relationships with key leaders, advance Cisco\'s public policy goals, and educate governments about our industry. We are involved in all key legislative, regulatory, and global issues that impact the technology industry. Our team is comprised of government and public policy experts across nearly two dozen countries who represent Cisco at the highest levels of government. The team has extensive experience in and out of government and are leaders in the industry.Who You AreYou have political and public policy experience combined with the following:
  • Comprehensive understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes involved in technology policy
  • Familiarity with public policy issues and challenges impacting the technology industry across Asia Pacific, with expertise in ASEAN countries
  • Strong political judgment and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to convey Cisco\'s perspective and priorities to government officials, and to explain complex regulatory and policy matters to our senior executives
  • Executive presence, coupled with strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
You are a self-starter with a team-player mentality. Capable of handling multiple issues simultaneously, you are an entrepreneurial thinker who can formulate and implement policy solutions to advance Cisco\'s business and purpose.Minimum Requirements
  • At least 10+ years\' combined experience in the public and private sector, including within government, corporate government affairs, trade associations, and public policy institutions
  • Telecommunications and technology-related experience is a plus
  • Native-level English; proficiency in one or more languages spoken in ASEAN countries is a plus
  • An advanced degree is a plus
  • Willing to travel throughout ASEAN and, on occasion, to countries outside of the region

Individual pay is determined by the candidate\'s hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
