Since October 2011, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities (THKMC) was incorporated as a charity with an IPC status to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large. THKMC provides assistance to the various groups in our community through more than 60 programmes and services for the elderly and the sick, families, persons with disabilities, and children. We help anyone in need with full respect to their race, colour, creed, language, culture and religion. DESIGNATION : Head of Intervention Services (Disability Services)

RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Director of Intervention Services, you will develop behaviour intervention programmes for persons with intellectual disability (PWID) and lead the Case Intervention team that consists of Social Workers, Associate Psychologists, Creative Therapists and Programme Executives. You are part of the multi-disciplinary team in ensuring the psychological, mental and social well-being of the residents. Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in strategic and operational planning across the division
  • Directs the day-to-day operations of the programmes and implements policies and procedures to attain programme goals and objectives
  • Supervises, coaches and mentors the team of social workers, associate psychologists, creative therapists and programme executives
  • Lead the research, development, and implementation of social, emotional, and behavioural intervention
  • Provide assessment methods to measure progress and work with multidisciplinary team for reviews
  • Collaborate with Nursing and Operations team for residents’ wellbeing
  • Support sector engagement through partnership with care givers, families, and the community
  • Oversee risk management and emergency situations to resolve any immediate safety concerns
  • Provide clinical advice and supervision to Social Workers, Associate Psychologists, and Creative Therapists


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related mental health discipline
  • Certified licensed psychologist, principal occupational therapist (psychiatric), senior nurse clinician (psychiatric) or clinical social worker
  • Appropriate professional registration/certification by the relevant regulatory or professional bodies
  • Minimally 8 years of related experience in the field


OTHER INFORMATION
Other requirements
  • Clinical expertise in crisis intervention, skill in working with people with intellectual disabilities and autism and individuals undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress; skill in diagnosis and assessment
  • Skills in supervising and evaluating staff of professionals and paraprofessionals.
  • Familiarity with community support systems, healthcare and human service resources, court and police activities, etc.
  • Good organisational skills and administrative abilities.
  • Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work including weekends.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to adhere to a professional code of ethics.
  • Pleasant personality, possess initiative and is a team player
  • Passionate about making a difference to improve the lives of others in the community.
Work Conditions
  • Residential Care Homes operates 24/7
  • Working hours may differ to meet the needs of the residents - 5 working days including weekend
  • May need to commute between 3 residential care Homes and 2 Day Centres
