Roles & Responsibilities Role Purpose: We are seeking for a suitable candidate to assume the role of the Head of Pricing APAC.
The Head of Pricing APAC is responsible for managing the APAC pricing policy and rate cards. He/She will work closely with the regional supply chain, local sales team and other corporate divisions to strike a balance between the profitability of the product offerings against revenue targets and costs of sales. The individual will also work with the global IT division to drive the design and adoption of the global pricing tool. He/She needs to develop a culture of quality, service excellence, flexibilities and costs consciousness while ensuring the accuracy of the rate cards.
Key Tasks, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1.Regional Pricing Process & Policy

  • Responsible to drive the development of the regional pricing policy and procedures (including deviation approval process) with the country CEOs and the local country sales teams; as part of the standardization efforts to align the pricing across countries.
  • Conduct regular exchange sessions with country sales teams to co-develop the pricing rate card for enterprise customers.
  • Implement and drive the pricing review cycle with local CEOs and relevant business stakeholders.
2.Pricing / Quotation Tools
  • Maintain and improve the local pricing models and tools, including spearheading the regional rollout of global pricing tool.
  • Participate in the global pricing tool development and spearhead the implementation and adoption in APAC based on local business requirements.
  • Define and create pricing reports to measure and monitor the product / lane margin performance for each country.
  • Increase work efficiency by proposing innovative solutions to reduce manual input of pricing and quotation.
3.Rate Cards Management
  • Support local sales teams in pricing, including preparing rate cards and conducting periodic review of the rates offered to make the company more competitive, making Asendia the logistics carrier of choice for the customers.
  • To manage the rate cards for the enterprise customers based on business requirements, profile and commitment of volume.
  • Ensure that rate cards submitted to enterprise customers are accurate and in accordance to the customer requirements.
  • Lead the rate card building exercise with the participation from the local business stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date rate cards, factoring considerations such as seasonal surcharges.
  • Assess the competitiveness of Asendia’s pricing against the prices offered by competitors and suppliers.
  • Monitor the win rate of the approved pricing and analyse the price level for future pricing adjustment and decision.
4.Strategic Projects
  • As Asendia APAC develops and changes, there are a range of strategic projects across departments which will require support. These can range from those specifically stated already. You will need to work closely with a range of Project Sponsors to ensure that all projects release their business case benefits for the company as planned.
5. Team Managment
  • Leading the APAC Pricing team to support the business.

The above is list is not exhaustive, due to business needs individuals may required to carry out additional duties. To ensure maximum efficiencies within the operations, flexibility is essential. Individuals will be required to assist in other areas.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors/Masters in Business, Engineering, Finance, Economics or other highly analytical field, or with relevant expereince in eCommerce Logistics, postal services, express logistics and supply chain
  • More than 5 years of working experience in related field
  • Team management experience
  • Analytical and detail-oriented
  • Experience of working cross-culturally in an international environment, able to work with customers and suppliers globally
  • Familiarity or experience with Business Intelligence and Reporting tool
  • Experience in analytical-focused business role with industry experience on the e-commerce parcels and mail delivery business will be beneficial
  • Advance Excel user and experience in other analytical/database program such Access, Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, Python, SQL will be beneficial
  • IT Savvy – experience of working in, or with IT departments
  • Senior stakeholder management
Knowledge, Skills & Qualities
  • Extensive knowledge of ecommerce
  • Knowledge of the export parcels / packets market
  • Knowledge of project management processes and principles
  • Excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and relationship-building skills
  • Flair for figures and detail oriented
  • Comfortable working with large amount of data to perform quantitative analysis and identify value adding business insights
  • Objective decision-making capability with critical thinking
  • Expert capability of modelling, problem solving, data analysis and reporting tools
  • Data savvy and analytical, able to interpret opportunities, trends and issues in data and market information
  • Self-driven and can work with cross-functional teams
  • Culturally aware, able to work with teams from different countries recognizing and understanding differences in approach
  • Broad business awareness, willing and able to operate under stress
  • Able to travel regionally occasionally (< 20% of the time)
