The team you will lead is at the heart of this exciting journey. The team will translate early concept directions into fully developed, optimised & validated solutions to make at high volume for the next generation of Dyson products.At the heart of our products, Dyson Digital Motors (DDM) being small and light, yet extremely powerful; they power the next generation of handheld vacuum cleaners as well as the revolutionary Dyson hair care range. Dyson battery management systems provide the high-power energy sources required to power the category-leading cord-free, robot and the range of future products.About the roleThe Head of Quality - Electrical Systems is a key role within the Quality and Product Safety team. This role is responsible for quality leadership in ensuring delivery of safe and reliable battery packs and Dyson Digital Motors, robust electronics systems and connectivity modules into our products. This role is part of the Quality and Product Safety Leadership team and requires active influence and engagement within this team as well as across multiple teams at Dyson. Some of the key responsibilities could include:Lead a cross functional team, specializing in Dyson\'s next generation battery cell development, Commercial cell battery pack design and development as well as Dyson Digital Motors development.Lead a cross functional team to ensure our Electrical / Electronic subsystems are robust in reliability and performance.Embed quality into the development processes to ensure design, process and supplier quality metrics are met not only within Dyson\'s development processes but also with Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers.Derive and influence project health metrics at every level to ensure quality, reliability and safety becomes a part of project expectation and deliverables.Develop and drive the long-term Quality ES strategies and you will inform budgets accordingly.Build strong relationships within and outside of Quality and Product Safety, collaborating with your key stakeholders in the Power Systems teams, Energy Storage Development (ESD), Product Units, Engineering and Commercial teams.Drive strong stakeholder engagement, be able to represent Quality and Product Safety and influence at multiple layers, specifically with Dyson Leadership including the Director of Energy Storage, the Director of Power Systems and the Director of Design Engineering.Build and maintain relationships with external suppliers is pivotal to this role.About youA degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline with experience in Electronics and/or Energy Storage disciplines will be an advantage.Leadership experience in a high pace engineering/operations/quality environment ideally having managed technical teams in an international organization.Extensive experience in strategic planning, support of high-profile projects, with proven management of complex issues, projects and tasks under strict timelines.A strong ability to lead, inspire and instill a high-performing culture across multi-functional teams.Strong Advanced Product Quality Planning practitioner with proven track records.Fearless communicator, influencer, decisive mindset and inclusive.Conversant in different technical disciplines to credibly understand and articulate risks/ benefits/ opportunities throughout the product development journey.Able to present and communicate complex information simply to a variety of audiences including senior and non-engineering stakeholders.Motivated by driving continuous improvement programs and application of Lessons Learnt mindset.Willingness to challenge the status quo and relentlessly drive continuous improvement.Commercially minded, financially savvy, able to get best value from the product, process & business.Experienced practitioner of Quality and/or Engineering tools and methodologies, such as: Critical to (safety, satisfaction, reliability), FMEAs, Statistical Process Control, Control Plans, 8D/CAPA, 6Sigma.\xe2\x80\x8bBenefitsDyson Singapore monitors the market to ensure competitive salaries and bonuses.
