Overview:
Risk Advisory & Approval, Asia covers credit risk of ING’s Financial Institutions (FI) and Non-bank Financial Institutions (NBFI) portfolio in Asia. FI counterparties comprise banks and NBFI counterparties include sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, pension funds, securities companies, financial sponsors and asset managers. Latter also includes Fund Finance which provides structured lending solutions to private funds managed in this segment.
The position will be to lead the Asia team in risk advisory & approval of counterparty ratings & limits, transactions & structures, establishing adequate transaction & documentation standards in line with ING policies, and ongoing monitoring of risk factors to ensure maintenance of sound credit portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Asia FI risk partner to FI and FM business counterparts to support targeted portfolio growth within acceptable risk boundaries.
Pro-active monitoring and management of Asia FI & NBFI portfolio to maintain satisfactory quality and manage overall counterparty exposure & risk drivers within ING risk appetite parameters.
Asia FI counterparty risk representative at regional CRO Platform and global Counterparty Credit Risk committee.
Lead the Asia FI counterparty risk team to ensure satisfactory review of counterparties’ profiles & financial performance, assess relevant risk issues, provide clear and concise considerations/ recommendations in credit decisions
Review & approve credit ratings & limits, subject to delegated authority. This role is classified as Identified Staff with assigned approval mandate.
Establish adequate credit terms and sound documentation standards for loan agreements, ISDA, CSA, GMRA, GMSLA & related documentation.
Review & approve FI and FM trades including advice on satisfactory structural mitigants for various derivative transactions.
Team liaison with Financial Institution Sector Lending Asia and Fund Finance Asia to facilitate satisfactory review pack quality and co-ordinate timely completion of reviews
We are looking for:
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in FI and NBFI including Fund Finance sectors
Strong leadership skill with ING Orange spirit
Good interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
High degree of numeracy and strong credit skills, with ability to understand and effectively analyze financial information and complex transactions & structures
Familiarity with legal documentation standards
Experience in OTC derivative transactions
Ability to adopt a holistic perspective to ensure strong risk opinion is developed and presented for risk decision
Ability to work to tight deadlines with a high level of independence and initiative
A commitment to high quality standards with a fine eye for detail
Fluent English. Ability to communicate clearly, on both verbal and written basis
Risk measurement skills will be an added plus consideration
