[What the role is]
The Centre for Climate Research Singapore (CCRS) is a division of the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS). Our vision is to be a world leading centre in tropical climate and weather research focusing on the Southeast Asia region.

The Department of Research Masterplanning (DRM) was formed in April 2023 to boost CCRS\xe2\x80\x99s research programme management activities, which includes building new capabilities to support the goals of the National Climate Science Research Masterplan (CSRMP) and strengthening local research climate science capabilities in Singapore through NRF-funded research grants managed by the Climate Science Research Programme Office (CSRPO).

In July 2022, Min (MSE) announced the launch of a second $23.5M Climate Impact Science Research (CISR) programme to support research projects looking further into sea level rise, the impacts of climate change on water resources and flood management, biodiversity and food security; human health and energy; and translation of climate science to policy.

Drive the coordination of climate science research across related climate research programmes in Singapore to ensure related activities relevant to the CSRMP leverage available national and international expertise and capabilities.

Facilitate the translation of scientific research from CCRS/CSRPO-based research programmes to inform policy decisions.

Provide supervisory guidance to officers reporting to Head (Research Masterplanning) under the Department of Research Masterplanning.

Officer will have an opportunity to collaborate with other scientists at CCRS and local IHLs, lead or support existing and new research projects related to key climate change impacts focus areas, publish research outcomes in peer-reviewed publications and present findings at international conferences/meetings.
