POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: House Supervisor/Senior Care Associate DEPARTMENT: Star Shelter Department REPORTS TO: Director, Star Shelter and MSC -

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist the caseworker/social worker/counsellor in casework. 2. Assist in organisation and running of programme. 3. Attend to the daily needs of residents. 4. Maintain a safe and supportive trauma environment within the shelter. 5. Supervises all residents and makes rounds throughout the shelter to ensure the overall safety of residents. 6. Assist residents with their shelter duties and routines 7. Support and Assist residents in following all shelter procedures and policies. Enforces rules and policies fairly. 8. Help resident work through conflict with another resident in the shelter. 9. Keep shelter clean, restocked groceries, and up to standards based on regulations. 10. Communicate observations and interactions with residents to the Director of Star Shelter through documentation. 11. Intervene in resident crises under the direction of shelter management. 12. Provide supervision for shelter staff (cleaner and housekeeper). 13. Participate in program, department, and agency meetings and relevant training as required, as well as inter-agency groups that provide assistance and advocacy. 14. Adhere to agency policy, procedures, and professional code of ethics. 15. Housekeeping matters 16. Complete all duties as assigned. Other duties as required.
