: * The HSSE Officer shall be responsible for advising the management team on the following matters in respect of the Safety, Health and Environmental requirements on the constructio : The HSSE Officer shall be responsible for advising the management team on the following matters in respect of the Safety, Health and Environmental requirements on the construction site as according to Integrated Management System: a) The prevention of injury to personal and damage to equipment and materials, including the application of HSSE Procedures b) Further improvements to existing safe / sound working methods, including those arsing from new developments c) The legal requirements affecting safety, Health and Environmental and welfare d) The provision, use, suitability and required standards of protective clothing and safety equipment e) The suitability of new and hired plant and equipment and the validity of all appropriate test certificate f) Any changes in legislation relative to safety, Health and Environmental and welfare Carry out site HSSE inspections, in conjunction with the Project Manager or other supervisory staff, the client and the contractors' HSSE representatives to check and ensure that only safe methods of working are in operation and that all regulations are being observed. Determine cause of any accident / incident or dangerous occurencies and recommend means of preventing recurrences Act as Secretary to the HSSE Committee The HSSE Officer should ensure that HSSE policy is implemented smoothly by all the various designated staff and employees of the project Upon initiation of the 'Permit to do Hot Work' or 'Permit to Work in Confined Space' by the site staff, he shall ensure that necessary elements in the HSSE requirement checklist are adhered to before approving for the job to be carried out He shall act as Secretary and organize for a monthly HSSE meeting with all the personnel from the HSSE responsibility chart He shall ensure that HSSE related issues pertaining to the project are communicated to all the managerial staff, client, sub-contractors and the employee via a management reporting system (eg through the various HSSE forms and monthly report)
