Carry out tasks primarily related to the plan review of newly constructed and already-built ships as well as offshore mechanical and hull systems, equipment, facilities, etc. in compliance with IMO, IACS, and classification regulations and norms. If applicable, submit technical reports or comments on the plan review.
Use the appropriate software to perform design verification calculations for ship and offshore machinery equipment and systems.
Give site surveyors and outside clients technical support and training services.
Quickly respond to consumer questions and offer solutions
Attend technical seminars on machinery and pipes both internally and externally, and produce pertinent technical reports.
Travel may be required depending on the demands of the job.
Additional tasks as delegated by managers and supervisors
Job Requirements:
Bachelor\'s degree or higher with a mechanical engineering concentration, or a similar field
Certificate of Registered Ship Inspector
A minimum of five years\' experience in the mechanical and hull systems design or evaluation, or technical job experience in a relevant technical field
Knowledgeable about mechanical theory and compliance with international conventions, flag authority regulations, and classification rules
Proficiency in Chinese and English both written and spoken for technical communication
It would be ideal if you had experience reviewing other classification societies\' mechanical and plumbing standards.
