What the role is:

The Accountant-General\'s Department (AGD) plays an important role in making Singapore a better place through Finance. At AGD, we aim to be a future-ready leader in transforming Public Sector finance by putting finance at the heart of our decision-making. We do this through building a strong foundation in providing robust financial systems and processes that serve key stakeholders including our pensioners, vendors and the public sector. Our team of accounting professionals work at AGD and are deployed to the public agencies to deliver a wide range of financial and accounting-related services to the Public Service. Together we play a critical role in helping the Government achieve its fiscal and economic objectives through sound stewardship and governance. You will join AGD\'s Financial Operations and Systems Directorate which spearheads and implements projects related to financial and centrally managed operational systems. Specifically, you will be involved in the implementation of WOG COA for Ministries on central financial systems. You will also be involved in other necessary system enhancements to support the implementation of WOG COA.

What you will be working on:

• For this internship, you will be involved in designed a dashboard to facilitate Agencies to analyse their data across FYs. This will require mapping of existing COA to new COA in the analytics platform. \xe2\x80\xa2 It is a once-in-lifetime experience whereby an organisation changes the chart of accounts (COA) as it uses the financial system, as most of the time data migration takes place when an organisation changes from an old system to a new one. This provides you with great opportunities to learn about Government\'s central financial and operational processes and applying the knowledge to support cutover processes for the change in COA, after taking into consideration operational needs of the Agencies. \xe2\x80\xa2 You will be exposed to working with our IT vendor and other government agencies to translate business needs into system requirements and policy/initiative execution via systems. \xe2\x80\xa2 Lastly, you will learn about project management (e.g. change management, addressing feedback received from Agencies, conducting briefings, etc.) and be exposed to both internal and external stakeholder management.

• Accounting knowledge \xe2\x80\xa2 Basic understanding of business processes \xe2\x80\xa2 PC and IT knowledge \xe2\x80\xa2 Positive attitude and willingness to learn
