A day in the life of an Imports Executive\xe2\x80\xa6

  • Manage and ensure end-to-end Import / re-import activities of Finished goods/Semi-Finished goods, Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, Spare parts & Machinery, Product samples as well as premium importing to the Factories (Sea carriers, Road and Air freight coordination) in order to support the committed Customer Service level, on-time Customs Clearing & Delivery and maximize benefits on tariff & duty privileges at the optimum cost.
  • Provide related information on import requirements, tariff & import duty and all related import procedures for good business decision making.
  • Act as a contact window for Nestle Affiliates, 3rd party Suppliers, Logistics service providers, Customs office and related Government bodies for all Import activities including Claim/Complaints, Return and Refusals.
  • Ensure compliance on import operations
  • Ensures the effectiveness (adherence and review) of the SMR/GSI (Specific market requirement/General shipping instructions), ensuring that these documents are up to date.
  • Develops and maintains relations with service providers such as clearing agents, shipping lines, transporters, etc.
  • Ensure the availability of accurate and complete documentation within the required deadlines
  • Accountable for overall performance of Import entry and government documents/certificates/WTO quota to meet Import Customs, GST and legal requirement and to ensure smooth Import clearing process
  • Manage all Import critical issues which are related to SG Custom regulations, Foreign Trade Department, Department Livestock Development and WTO regulations, such as Customs tariff & duty disputes and all regulation concerns in order to avoid business risk and protect best benefit for Nestle Group
  • Ensure customs clearance performance
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation is shared with clearing agents on time for delivery
  • Report on the performance of clearing agents
  • Ensure efficient management of import orders
  • Organize meetings with clearing agents and other service providers
  • Guarantee a level of supply on time and at an optimal cost
  • Coordinate the delivery of containers to the respective sites (Factories, Distribution Centers, Warehouses)
  • Follow up on additional costs
  • Follow up and report on our operations with our internal stakeholders
  • Follow up and report on ongoing claims in case of damages or losses
  • Initiate and participate cost reduction projects
  • Monitoring and work closely with Tariff Code SME of Import Duty Tariff Code by processing protest/appeal for any uncertain issues in order to attain the most correctness and avoid business risk.
  • Manage the best import solution to utilize container freetime to optimize total operation cost and avoid additional storage charge, demurrage/detention charges at arrival port/airport and improve IMS Customer Service efficiency
What will make you successful
  • Bachelor Degree in International Business, Marketing, Supply Chain or related fields.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in Supply Chain and Customer Service in any industry.
  • Experience in Export & Import or shipping industry is an added advantage.
  • Customs law & regulations related to Import business.
