The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of learning needs including English acquisition. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom, and work with teachers across Primary and Secondary to ensure the rights of each child are met. You will work with school leaders, teaching staff and support staff to assist in all aspects of the work to promote a healthy and supportive working environment. Committed to delivering highest quality education and with experience of working with special needs, you will help us achieve the highest of standards and continue to deliver the best for our students. Duties and Responsibilities Inclusion of Additional Support Needs (ASN)
  • Strategic review of the current model; curriculum, fees, admissions and policy development.
  • Coordination and management of all data in relation to inclusiveprovision at EHO. Regular reporting to the Principal.
  • Induction and professional development/training for teachers in inclusive strategies: Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Dyslexia, Positive Behaviour Management, cooperative learning strategies and differentiation etc.
  • Development of alternative curriculum pathways for students with ASN (BTEC, ASDAN, Functional Skills).
  • Consultation with teachers/EH colleagues in the area of inclusive education.
  • Direct support/clinical supervision for EHO Student Services Team: Associate Inclusive Education Teachers and Counsellor.
  • Alignment with wider EH pedagogy team on inclusive education andwellbeing.
Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • Confidential support & consultation for Designated Safeguarding Leads (managing investigations).
  • HR: Induction (onboarding) and professional development for teaching and non-teaching staff. Safer recruitment guidance.
  • Age-specific curriculum and policy development (grooming, online,peer-on-peer abuse etc).
  • Guardianship - policy, training, accreditation
Parent Support
  • Workshops and support groups (Positive Behaviour Management,Communication, Feeding & ‘Fussy Eaters’)
Admissions Support
  • Consultation and review of new applications in relation to ASN.
  • Policy and process review
  • Liaison with PL team

Qualifications


Relevant Qualifications and Desired Experience:
  • Degree in relevant subject
  • Qualified teacher with experience across the key stages
  • Further professional qualifications/certifications in related fields
  • Prior experience in a school leadership position
  • Familiarisation with IB/PYP/MYP/DP & IGCSE programmes
  • Continuing professional development and membership of relevant externalbodies
Professional/Personal Attributes:
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent self-awareness and the ability to nurture that in others
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with a wide network of teachers andfamilies
  • Good cross-cultural skills and understanding
  • Strong IT skills
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to maintain key dates and monitorprogress within fixed time frames
  • Have a good track record of leading and managing staff
  • Be passionate about raising standards in teaching and learning and have a clear understanding of excellence in learning
  • Be able to work consistently and show resilience when under pressure
  • Clear strategic vision for the development of Inclusion and Wellbeing
