Industrial Designer (Fishing Tackles & Packaging)

About the job:

• Be part of the renown Japanese manufacturer of bicycle components and fishing tackles.

• Development of Bicycle Components/ Fishing Tackles, from planning to mass production.

• Located at our new intelligent manufacturing plant, at Jurong Innovation District.

• This is a Junior Industrial Designer role in the Regional HQ Design team.
  

:

• Involve in the complete product development process of:

o Fishing Tackles o Product packaging o Bike components

• Collaborate with and support the Japan head office in the development of bicycle components & Fishing Tackles, from planning to mass production.

• Research to strategize, propose design directions align to company\xe2\x80\x99s long term business plans.

• Create concept sketches, model in clay & 3D software to visualize and prototype concepts.

• Balance Design appeal, Engineering function with Business intent.

• Issue good quality 3D data and clear design documents for mass production.

• Follow up on first articles and finished goods to make sure designs are well-delivered & produced as intended.

• Set project milestones and manage schedules to ensure prompt delivery.

• Opportunity for travel to Japan head office, for training & project purposes (If required)
  

Job Requirement:

• Diploma / Degree in Product & Industrial Design.

• 1-3 years of work experience, with experience in full product development process considered a plus.

• Skillsets requirement

o Driven, passionate designer with propensity to learn and strong problem solving ability o Team player eager to take on new challenges with a positive work attitude o Capable visualizer with Adobe AI & PS, Direct &/or Parametric 3D (Rhino3D / CREO / NX) skills o Good Sketching, Model making & Research skills. o Able to communicate effectively, and create quality presentation materials o Experienced in manufacturing processes & design for manufacturing. o Proficient in Design Thinking methodologies and User Experience studies. o Able to perform work independently with minimum guidance.

• Mondays - Fridays: 8:00am to 5:30pm
