Position Overview

The Information Security Administrator is responsible for the operation of the ITSEC team for protecting the organisation’s computers, networks and data against threats, such as security breaches, computer viruses or attacks by cybercriminals. You will need to handle all resources issues and perform proper planning and allocation related to ITSEC operation. You will also need to provide all status reporting as well as to highlight any potential trend. In addition, you will need to ensure that security tools implementation, security reporting as well as risk matters are adequately managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, operate and optimise the organisation’s portfolio of cybersecurity solutions (IDS/IPS, email defences, endpoint, server and database defences)
• Implement, operationalise and optimise vulnerability management, automated security baseline compliance and automated source code review
• Assist with incident response activities including mitigation and tracking of vulnerabilities
• Monitors and stay aware of information security industry trends, tools and techniques
• Assist with other duties as assigned

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Security related fields
• At least 5 years of working experience in Information Security
• Demonstrated understanding of various Operating Systems (e.g., Linux, Unix and Windows)
• Experience with programming/scripting (Python, PowerShell, etc) would be advantageous
• Cloud related certifications and/or hands-on experience would be advantageous
• Security certification such as GSEC, CISSP or CISM would be advantageous
• Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• An analytical mind with excellent problem-solving ability
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision required
