This position is for College of Integrative Studies (CIS / IPCC Working Group II Technical Support Unit).
Liaise with the TSU\xe2\x80\x99s host organization to establish the TSU IT infrastructure and manage the procurement, configuration, maintenance, and modernization of its IT infrastructure components.
Provide system administration support for all platforms, including PC, Mac, and Linux systems and ensure the smooth functioning and security of IT systems, addressing any technical issues that may arise.
Set up and maintain electronic databases relevant to the activities of Working Group II and ensure the integrity and security of these databases.
Establish and maintain procedures for data backup and security to safeguard critical information and implement measures to protect data from loss or unauthorized access.
Manage platforms and mechanisms that support collaborative drafting of reports and figures by author teams and facilitate the submission of nominations and review comments by experts and governments.
Develop and maintain an author portal with tools to assist in the assessment process and provide technical support for authors engaged in the drafting and review of reports.
Develop and maintain the Working Group II pages of the IPCC website, including microsites for specific reports.
Provide IT support during international meetings and sessions of the IPCC Working Group II and ensure that technological requirements for meetings are met, and technical issues are promptly addressed.
Support the curation of data products from Working Group II reports in collaboration with the Task Group on Data and the IPCC Data Distribution Centre.
Qualifications:
Degree in computer sciences, information technology or a related field; with at least 5 years of relevant work experience after conferment of first degree.
Experience in the system administration of local networks with the highest security requirements;
System knowledge of PC, Macintosh, networks, mail and web servers, and backup systems;
Experience with website development and maintenance;
developing databases;
working in a multi-cultural team.
Excellent oral and written English at the technical level.
High degree of stress-resistance and capacity to work to deadlines.
Willingness to travel internationally.
