What an Inkjet Ink Engineering Manager does at HP:

  • Manage Ink plant setup and production execution per scope, cost and schedule
  • Partner with R&D, Regulatory teams and manage new product introduction (NPI) programs, ink changes from planning to rollout and manufacturing release (MR).
  • Manage the team for product technology, process, materials and equipment knowledge transfer and training with/at US sites.
  • Manage the plant layout and design, site built-up, equipment procurement and installation, automation, validation, qualification, testing, quality certification, regulatory approvals, and Manufacturing Release via the engineering team.
  • Establish and manage financials during startup for capital and expenses, manage spend within approved budget and flash post product manufacturing release.
  • Deploy aligned governance and structured change management process with US, SGP, BCN partners/teams. This includes revisions on Ink formulation, raw materials, process and equipment.
  • Ensure quality expectations for Ink product, quality compliance and worldwide (WW) ink teams and large format (LF) customers are met.
  • Provide regular engagement, alignment with Ink teams and progress communication to SGP and worldwide (WW) Ink management teams.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • At least 2 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Ink Manufacturing Industry is an advantage.
  • Knowledge on manufacturing engineering, equipment, materials/chemistry, Inkjet product, quality systems and plant infrastructure is preferred.
  • Able and willing to travel.
  • Strong leadership skills including coaching, team culture and values building, motivating and managing technical staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, presentation and influencing skills across functions and geographies.
  • Possesses strong teamwork and ability to collaborate across geographies and functions.
  • Demonstrated planning and execution skills on project management with strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills in a dynamic and changing business environment plus a commitment to deliver personally or through others.
  • Solid business acumen and organizational connectedness.
