PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

The SAP Industries and Customer Advisory organization is committed to SAP’s vision of helping the world run better and improve people’s lives. We work with customers across 25 industries (including Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Public Sector) to optimize their mission-critical core processes, innovate with new business models, and gain efficiencies. Our global Industries and Customer Advisory communications team is looking for a quick learner who can help us with a variety of communications programs and projects. Your personal insights, experiences, and perspective are all important to us – and we hope you will bring your creativity and can-do energy to the team as well. You will have excellent networking opportunities working with colleagues across our global and regional teams, and you will be welcomed to a community of communications professionals with diverse experiences and backgrounds. In addition, you’ll gain invaluable knowledge as you immerse in the world of intelligent enterprise solutions and industries.
EXPECTATION AND TASKS

Duties include:

  • Producing a biweekly newsletter that reaches 5000 colleagues across two board areas – some writing and editing required
  • Keeping our team event calendar up to date and assisting in the planning and execution of key internal events including our quarterly all-hands meetings and employee coffee corners
  • Curating content and managing our internal communication channels in SharePoint, MS Teams, SAP Jam, etc. to ensure a steady flow of the latest news and content across our teams
  • Supporting social media activities
  • Scheduling and tracking project tasks for the team as needed (great for gaining project management experience) and communications metrics to help us measure and improve
  • Participating in and helping drive team initiatives to evaluate and develop new and creative communication formats
  • Supporting communications by managing our event invitations, mailing lists, mailbox, and feedback channels

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

  • Background in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Events is preferred
  • Fluency in English, with strong writing and editing skills as demonstrated by a cover letter and, if available, 1-3 samples of writing (blogs, published articles, and school compositions are acceptable)
  • Highly organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments and follow through on commitments
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools – Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Social media savvy, especially with LinkedIn and Twitter, as well as familiarity with Instagram and TikTok
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience with video editing and design (Camtasia/ iMovie etc)
    • Prior work experience – e.g. working at SAP, newsletter production, feature writing
    • Conversational or written competency in a language other than English

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters/ Bachelors (final/ penultimate year) student currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or institution
  • Part time applicants will also be considered

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • As this is a global team working through a range of time zones, there is flexibility in your working hours though you will need to be available for team meetings and some events
  • This position is ideal for anyone who can commit to a minimum internship period of 6 months (full time or part time) with the possibility of extension
