ABOUT THE ROLE

Hummingbird Bioscience is seeking an Intern to support the development of cutting-edge methods (machine learning and classical structural bioinformatics methods) for the analysis and design of protein and antibody structures. The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of bioinformatics and structural biology, with an interest in data science and machine learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be part of a team to develop novel in silico pipelines to analyze and predict structure-function relationships in protein-antibody complexes
• Work closely with the wetlab team to design relevant experiments to quantitatively assess the aforementioned pipelines
• Stay up to date with relevant literature; implement and test new algorithms

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s Program in Computer Science, Computational Biology or related Science program
• Knowledge of structural modeling tools such as molecular dynamics, docking and computational protein design
• Basic programming skills (e.g. R, Python, MATLAB)
• Some experience with command line interface and high-performance computing preferred
• Good communication and inter-personal skills
